Somehow I have to laugh so hard after reading this report. One moment they write that PAF is inferior and has been boycotted for decades. The latest is vintage F16 from three decades old… On the moment IAF could lose superiority. It shows the quality of these reports. The fact is that in that past IAF lost more then it shot down. At the moment there is not one single option for to show practical superiority. If IAF tries to fly over PAF in wartime they can expect an all out war with surely nuclear end. That was the reason why India stopped at LOC and returned after months of hot air. Both countries will never fight. All leaders including the US said that they diverted nuclear war. At the moment Pakistani economy improved. They have options and there are secret negotiations. We will see how the ballance will be.

You really are a troll aren’t you. The PAF is mentioned in all the newsarticles regarding the F-16 articles. You are free to believe what you want regarding the PAF capabilities.

If you don’t like the truth or can’t understand the articles, they stay out of the disucssion, stop being a troll.

Isn’t that personal flaming? If you wanna talk to one person then use the pm. Otherwise stay out. I am not intrested in making this very intresting topic go down again. I like aviation.

I think for defence matters the Gripen is excellent. Maybe the range of su is super. But the cockpit layout. The links. The weapons. The superb handling (Short landing). The very easy maintenance…. Excellent choice.

    Can we move on?

Indian Air Force finally gets the chance to take on the F-16
    Thursday, October 07, 2004 – 09:37 PM

Indian Air Force pilots will finally get a chance this weekend to cross swords with F16 Fighting Falcons, the mainstay of its adversary Pakistan, during an exercise codenamed ‘Ankush’.

In the exercise IAF fighters like the new Su-30MKI, Jaguar, Mirage 2000, MiG 27 and the upgraded Mig 21 ‘Bisons’ will go head-to-head with six Singapore Air Force F-16s for over a period of 15 days.

The exercise will take place over the skies of Gwalior, where last year, the IAF pilots challenged the US Air Forces F-15 fighters with their SU-30’s, in the first ever air-to-air exercises held with a foreign air force.

The Indian Air Force was very disappointed last year when the US turned down a request to bring their F-16 fighter jets for ‘Cope India-04’ a joint Indo-US exercise held in Gwalior in February.

The Singapore air force is also bringing in a C-130 Hercules for the exercise.

India also agreed in principle with Israel to hold joint air exercises involving thier F-16s. The exercise would be held in 2005 after the IAF Sukhoi-30 MKIs are back from their tour in France.

    Google,
Or one has lowered the quality.. Even Janes. Just do me a favour. If you are pro his article then show the good part. We can talk about dual use or even one sided use of certain weapons… But I find this guy making an elephant out of an ant. If he knew about historic beteen India and Pakistan, if he knew about F16 debacle, If he knew about IAF inventory… That AMRAAM part is pathetic. Even PAF getting F16 isn’t very important. (only historical).

I am happy that a lot of journalist do look at the whole picture. Not a simple part and then blaiming one party.
