Well. I think I understand it pretty good. Let us no even comment on boycot options or the strange fact that India designs engine but cannot test it. No wonder the testing lasts that long. Or the fact that more and more US engines re bought.
About Gripen. Read the magazine of this month. I am not allowed to copy it but since you have enough time to post BS I think you could go and buy one… It is that article about Saab. How hard is it for you to understand any logic?
I agree. Putting a lot weapons on a trainer doesn’t make it superior to average fighter or bomber. The K8 has options for simple ground work or A2a but who would risk that in real combat?
I still see more troubles in selling SD10. The plane is just a transport method. Anyway. Good response 😉
But there is obviously concern that the US may tell the Isrealis not to let him ride in one, for whatever reason they havem, hence the news article!
A bit strange. Not let them ride but offer them at the same time?
US engine done deal for LCA means that Kaveri is still in Russia where the Russian engineers doing their best to mak something out of it. And it means that the US stopped FBW for LCA they just can stop spare parts for the engine. About F16. PAF has left that road. Read between the lines of last ACM interview in afm july 2004. OR do I have to say that I was not there to interview him? And about Gripen. How funny it was when India asked for 120 Gripens for replacing Mig23/27 just after Pakistan showed intrest for 60… Or do you guys do not read AFM mag?
About IAF flying F16… Most of the Indian planes are well known by PAF. Either China or arabs. I doubt any nation will sit and wait till they see them in actual combat.
Well. I agree with some parts. Look how strange it sounds… It is not officicial while there are many pictures and AFM mag tells about PAF ACM about getting it… Anyway.
About the cheaper options. Why getting extremely cheap plane (F7 bvr) and expensive BVR radar and missile? And will those nations be able to fight a real Su27 or Mig29 that are in the same arena? Maybe the price is fine but the result are not optimal. Fc1 quality and price are bottum of that arena. Otherwise they could have sold Cesna 172 with SD10.
As stated, LM will offer the F-16 to North Korea is they could, but its up top the US government and there is NO WAY the US government would allowed an F-16 sale. Funny, up until a couple of years back they did not even release engines for the “indigenous” LCA, how can you dream of F-16s!?
As usual there is much hype about US releasing top tech to India. Sofar not much eating of the pudding. Even if the US is willing to sell… The Indians know what it means. They felt the same as their counterparts (PAF) when suddenly no assistance was left for the LCA. Looking at the past one can not trust US source. If they need one they will smile. But if one does not comply with their needs then it can be over. As Mandela said… The US government plays with power.
a) the J10 has not been sold yet, so its hard to say at this point whether the J10 will be offered for export soon. even if it is eventually offered (which it most likely will), we are talking about 5~10 years time frame. plenty of time for new versons of the J10 to be developed, hence the export verson will not represent the full capacities of the plane, giving you a safety margine.
quote afm mag july 2004 interview Alan Warnes with ACM Kaleem Sadat:
“I think we willl buy the Chinese J-10 aircraft, although we have not signed a contract- it is a good aircraft and not too expensive when compared to western aircraft.”
There are rumours that PAF has finished French avionics for J10 if they buy it. Don’t make the J10 holy. It is more expensive then Fc1 which is indeed more expensive then those F7… But they all together are still cheaper then any western plane. Chill. And if you prefer upgrading the cheapest F7 over and over again… You will never able to compete…
Exposing fc1 is not the problem Pretty much sure that more high tech J10 will be offered to others. The problems is that China needs to compete with EF2000, Gripen. Rafale etc. Maybe they came a long way but this field is about getting further then others. I don’t think even J10 has passed those opponents. Why bother over the low tech part of that team?

ahum
Actually in PAF service the F-6 has six CONFIRMED kills (not to be confused with ‘CLAIMS’) in air combat to only one loss. For F-6 kills: http://www.pafcombat.com/aerial-kills/paf-kills-1971-indo-pak-war.htm For F-6 loss: http://www.pafcombat.com/aerial-kills/iaf-kills-1971-indo-pak-war.htm
Usman, there was an article in afm with the title farewell to the f6… Same conclusions as yours.
Sameer,
I never said that guy (Saddam) was sane. But who is these days. Bush? To be honest. Freedom fighter or terrorist are time labels. I see no difference in state terrorism or crazy people.
Just look for the afghan massacre on bittorent. Maybe the killing of innocent in US is wrong but the same can be said about what US is doing in other places. It reminds be about something strange. One American guy told in that interview. He saw a few killed Americans soldiers on TV. He was furious. Then the next day he saw many more dead Afghanis. He saw children and women crying. It did not matter. Collateral. I nice easy word. See… That is what you get when you only believe one side. And I doubt there is one side that is only good.
And remember. I do not favour any of these groups. Never will.
That is why they invented the Falcon-up program. I know about the core and the wingstructure but how long would one rely on 70 era planes… (cash-quality). If they continue using those old frmes then the cost will rise.
The previous upgrade had fuel and oil leaks in and around the engines. IAI fixed the problems under warranty as was provided in the contract.
No big deal…

In February 1996, the Turkish Deputy Chief of Staff, Cevik Bir, secretly visited Israel and forged a military alliance with Shimon Peres. Unfortunately, instead of sounding the alarm, the Greeks failed to see that, in the “new” Middle East, the axis between Israel and Turkey is the most important political development in the region since the 1991 Gulf War. While the Greeks are building Holocaust memorials in Greece and restoring synagogues, Greek interests are trashed in the United States Congress by the unholy Turkish-Israeli collusion [1]. While the Greek Americans, are awarding medals and honors to prominent American Jews, the Israelis are modernizing the Turkish armed forces [2].
