Just poping over to Farnborough again now.
Excellent im off there tomorrow on EZY. Hope the 228 is still about?
I amm ume that was parked on the GA area? How can I get there by bus? Is there more there than can be seen in the distance from the terrace??
Its all to do with the horse racing, its the Derby tomorrow and Royal Ascot in a couple of weeks. Very nice An74 in Farnborough on a horse charter, should be back tomorrow.
This An12 taken at the last Farnborough show, it was a support aircraft, all aircraft must have smoke coming out of the! 😀
I would love to see one Vulcan flying rather than a squadron of spits!
Jets are good only as long as they have lots of smoke coming out the back. 😀 WW2 warbirds will always get the headlines. But for those of us of the age that Lightnings,Buccs,Vulcans etc were the staple diet of airshows of our youth these types will always be important.
I wonder what will happern to attitudes in 20 years time when sadly almost all the WW2 vetrans will have passed on? For me the 50’s would have been the most exciting time to have been about in. Loads off WW” aircraft still about along with those new fangled jets.
I have a AR108 too brought from Maplins after I wore my other one out. Its very small and something you can stick in your pocket. It scans 100 chanells, the batterys last ages and its easy to use.Its great for listerning at airports but no so good for signals far away. It would be ideal as a first scanner.
Sounds like VP-BNM which frequents Farnborough a lot, its a dark red but otherwise as you describe. I just wish they would not wake me up early in the morning coming out of Blackbushe!
Thanks wanabee, the first shot I took of a Learjet taking off at Farnborough came out as just sky! Off to AMS on Monday so will get plenty of practise in there, and you can see the results on here.
I too think they should be loaned out to places like Newark and Tangmere that can provide a secure undercover home for them. Much better then them gathering dust instore. I can’t think of too much that they could be swapped with unless somebody has a Stirling or Whitley hidden in their garage!?
A Beech 18 took of for a short display while the Skyraiders where building up their formation:
Great photos, a place on my list for next year. And may I be the first one to be pedantic and say its actually a Lockheed 12  .
Trouble is with LFA I seem to spend too much time nosing round the mortal remains of Harvards, Nord 1002’s etc in the long grass, are they still there? They was also a hangar with about 20 Yak 11’s/18’s about 10 years ago.
Was there are sign of the ex Swiss Miles Magister or the Hawker Fury?
Yes vety much looks like the CBA-123 produced by Embraer in the early 90’s. It was abandones whey the 145 came along.
