Yes the April 1st things did hit me too. Would love to see one of these airbourne again, would make a change from all those spits;) . Perhaps they should do a search for G-AAGX lost over the Persian Gulf?
The membership does seem like a bargain at £15. I will have to check them out at Popham in a few weeks.Lets hope it gets further than the HP V/1500 replica that was started in the 80’s? After that can we have a Empire flying boat replica??
Farnborough probably only gets a couple of hundred thousand pax a year as the average aircraft is a Leajet! We do get 2 146 flights a day on the BAE company shuttle. Plus the odd D328JET,Saab2000,EMB145 and plenty of BBJ’s.
Is that parachute system why the CAA wont certificate them? There are plenty of Cirrus’s in Europe but all seem to stay on the N register. Comments?
Yes it was at Popham over winter 02/03 but now at Lee. The parent company went down in 02 I think, taking a large flying club and SCAW with it.

Is N200PR visible from the road that leads down to the Army Golf Club Clubhouse or is it tucked away in the AAIB hangar?.
Apparently FAST are expecting a Jaguar and Gnat iminently.
Yess N200PR is outside at the moment by the compound. As for a Jag and a Gnat the place will be very much full with those then. Hope its the T2 thats on site, lovely respberry ripple scheme.

Anybody know if there are still any wrecks on the airfield site? Other than those in Wrecks and Relics, of course…Flood.
There are still a few but they are tucked away behind the trees to the west of the new hangars. They are
XW241 PUMA
XW566 JAGUAR T2
XW934 HARRIER T4
also Buccaneer XV344 is a gate guard but can not be seen from outside as it is on the airside of the new RAE/what ever they call themselves now HQ. There may also be a Mig 23 there but it is about 3 years since its been sighted.
Somewhere on the field should also be Vampire ‘U-1215’/XE998
which was in the now no more Q shed.
The AAIB now contains Premier N200PR after its argument with some trees at Blackbushe:rolleyes: .
Looks like we all remember the noise the most! Spent many an hour at Gatwick watching DA and BCAL 1-11 launching. They were much noisier that the 747-100’s,Caravelles and even 707’s! Nowonder they had the nickname of pocket rocket!
UB441(i think) is/was at Rochester in the back of the hangar a couple of years ago. Who owns it and what are the plans for it?
As far as I know its going to be something similar to the ‘concorde’ grandstand. That was the standard airshow type located in the visitor center carpark. Not much to get excited about unless they cut down all the lamposts along the permiter road:D ,I wish!
I would go for G-BGMN of Emerald, a very late production 748 that I remember with Euroair.

So sounds like another Spitfire replica to me .
Its the old question again. World population of spits 25 plus 75 replicas;)(or what ever the number is?) .
Apart from it being on the wring forum. The HC5 has not entered service as its avionics can not cope with IFR flying, all but one I think is in storeage. The old ones are flying, one has just rumbled over my house.
Miles is actually a little complicated.
The original company went bankrupt in 1947 as a result of the very bad winter(power cuts not helping wood glue to dry) plus govenment delays of the Marathon and Monitor. The Woodley part was then taken over by Handley Page. Handley Page(Reading) as it was then called closed in 1962.
After the 1947 collapse Fred Miles started up again at Redhill and later Shoreham and then was merged into Beagle in the late 60’s.
It was at that time that the M100 student and HDM105 were built. The later idea was sold to Shorts and became the Skyvan.

Mine is Farnborough, and although Rob will probably correct me I would say either the Cessna Citation or Gulfstream IV are our most frequent visitors, with Dassault Falconcs coming in close.(
Yes Citations are probably now Farnboroughs most seen aircraft but G4’s are not to far behind. Not many 125’s since Bookajet moved out. And not much at all today, only 7 outside. Just wish Easyjet would move in!
Thanks guys. Wish they had done it next week as it forced me to use the very expensive terminal carpark and I could not get near the RJX because they were laying the new parking area. But will have to make another visit soon.
They were also putting up a scaffold round the DC10 nose so something looks to be done to that soon.
