Great stuff! I thought SWISS were in T2 last year? I’m sure they were there last November. I hope that ERJ170 is back in September, I want to bag one and the most recent AZ aircraft I’ve seen have all been Airbus types.
Pity the photography is so limited from the departure area of T2 because that is where I’ll spend most of my time on 5th September, with the afternoon of 4th September set aside for spotting.
I agree – these forums are meant to be fun and enjoyable, and people who join just for the sake of causing problems should go and find something else to do. People should not let their lives be governed by the goings off on an internet forum with people they are hardly ever likely to come across.
Thanks for the comments! Not knowing the Titan – that shows how often I get to go spotting (a couple of times a year at MAN and once at BHX for this year). The weather was a pain that day, but a little better the following day, when I got some better shots from the departure lounge as well as some from my fave spot in the cafe area. I managed to get loads of firsts though, and it was the best spotting I have ever had at MAN.

I miss Sabena too – they were incomparable 🙁 SNBA are usually great to fly with though, we were just unlucky on these latest flights.
Stieglitz – I hope we have better luck with the crew next time, the crew from my first ever SNBA flight would be a good one to get, that steward was the best! 😀

The Dragonfly pub in terminal 1 is vile, the food is some of the worst I’ve had in a pub. Also that all day breakfast is weird as well.
For a more detailed account on the facilities of BHX visit this link http://www.luchtzak.be/postt6001.html where I wrote a whole screed about Birmingham-Brussels-Birmingham, with attention to the eating facilities at BHX.

You should visit the Atomium and take a look at that!
Great shots from a seriously under-rated airport! I cannot wait for September when I can go there again (and I promise an illustrated spotting report!)
I am still waiting to bag the Turkmenistan and Uzbekistan aircraft, and also Mahan would be nice, as would Air India when they start. The only thing which lets BHX down is the lack of good eating places in the terminal 🙁

Thanks for comments. Future Pilot – I promise there will be a report on my flights from BHX, and also a spotting report (hope that the weather will be better than my last spotting there on 2nd November).
I have very happy memories of spotting at (and flying from) BHX and it will be fantastic to get the opportunity again this year – a twist of fate after the travel agent’s computer had a fault when we booked our holiday and showed that MAN flights were not available, even though they were, and so we had to change to BHX at the last minute. Hope to see the new Sun Air service some time and also some of the exotics, but we are staying on site so we won’t have to catch a train into central Birmingham like last two times. That only means more spotting for me 😀
