i loved it
forget the the “things” around, the flying was “da bes” ๐ i have seen.
i bought the DVD and i hope they come back with part 2
also thanks to the film, got curious about the “bande desinee” (comics) of les chevaliers du ciel, and its awesome, for 44 year old kids like myself ๐
if you like, you can ask a good book store about les aventures de Tangui et Laverdure… they are the original chevaliers du ciel
sorry my dear american friends but stealth, iron eagle 1,2 & 3 and many more were pure junk
the good ones Menphis Belle ๐
and just the flying parts of top gun
in my humble opinion, Chevaliers du ciel outclass them all
mais oui, je parle francais aussi ๐

dont tell me you did the L-1011 at Air-Transat ๐ฎ
there’s where i did my F/E…
about the engines… yes it is true, as mechanics we did suffer quite a lot with them, imagine working inside one of those while its still hot ๐ on a nice hot summer day… ๐ ๐ outside at the ramp ๐ ๐ ๐ in a rush ๐ฎ
Fan balancing was a common thing,
receiving a “clean” L-1011 arrival was a surprise ๐ฎ (always some snag)

i used to be flight engineer on the mighty L-1011
a flying tank it was ๐

Martinez compadre, that was some “catedra”, thank you for sharing. ๐
about Flankerman pictures, its clear that we’re looking a the R-77 fuselage with an IR seeker and conventional flight controls with thrust vectoring in the back, so its clear that the new emphasis is on reducing the RCS of the missile and compensate for maoubrability with the thrust vectoring.
also it can be assumed the same range as the “regular” R-77.
no question about it, ruskii tabaris have started to walk forward again, good news.
also in Air & Cosmos, May 2006, our good friend Piotr Butowsky has written some very nice info about the development of new missiles for the future 5th. gen. Russian fighter, very good indeed.

let me put one thing clear…
there was never any suspiction let alone proof or anything that could point Chavez backing up “the shining path” (sendero luminoso) in Peru, i even have serious doubts of his involvment with the Colombian guerrillas.
what’s very very clear here is the intent to “create” another saddam hussein, only this time in Latin America, for the clear and simple reason of taking control of the oil in the area, just remember the “less dependance on energy” terms used so much by the bush administration, so we’re facing a real soap opera worth of a hollywodd film
i dont symphatize with Chavez, but being against him just because he’s “showing the finger” :diablo: to bush is simply non sense.
remember, most of us would like to do so, as well
now the bush administration is not only cutting the supply of parts to their F-16’s but also has forbiden their sale/buy to others
i’d love to see the Argentinian Air Force to buy them and upgrade them, but tha’s to be seen.
lets also remember the raise of ousama bin ladin to a hero freedom fighter to the fall of a bloddy terrorist also showing the finger to bush
remember also that he and his oil fiends are making a pile of money with the oil prices and they intent to keep it that way
what makes me mad is to see everyday so many good kids in the US military being killed in irak so bush keeps getting richer ๐ก
back to the Su-30, wherever in russia comes from, it will be by far the most powerful weapon in Latin America for a while and i’d love to see them practising against the Peruvian Migs (after their upgrade of course) ๐

dear Mariusz
does the Su-22M4 Polish Air Force uses the Tumansky R-29B?
or the Liyulka AL-21?
thanks to all

At the aviation school i went, we used that book quite a lot and so much that we consider it the best jet engine book ever, i have mine and 26 years latter its still on my book shelf ๐
Camaro.
I’ve seen it yesterday (just opened here in Canada)
AWESOME ๐
i’ve love it, the scenes are incredible, and one of the most spectacular was the stolen M2k hiding below the A-340-600, and the story was much better than that of our american friends :p
the best i have seen to date, good work

right after the september 11 attacks, i was still shocked by the events when on the news i saw something even more disgusting than any cartoon on earth…
muslims HERE IN MONTREAL CANADA, took to the streets to CELEBRATE the attacks …
i couldnt believe my eyes ๐ฎ
it made me want to hurt somebody ๐ก
so, did the muslim moderates said something about? or the radical extremists for such matter?…
that video was “quietly” made dissapear not to be seen again
and the muslims are raising hell for some cartoons
talk about “one sided” mind, we have to tolerate that, but they cant?

These are the clowns who will fly that piece of junk called Mirage. ๐
jungle boy…
do you have a problem? ๐ก
what kinda’ junk will be best suitable for your taste? :diablo:
Camaro.
Hey if you say that the “dirty dozen” is in good shape, all right for me.
All iยดve seen is a dummy AA-12, far more than those chilean derby….
good one ๐
about the R-77, the story is as follows:
the tester got broken and from failure to back in service took only 3 months, thats what took the russians to send a techie to fix the tester “for free” and everybody was happy.
but the clown defense minister (mister wise-man :diablo: ) didnt knew, and he heard that the tester was broken and made it public and blamed former president fujimori (fujimoto for fun :diablo: )
when in fact by the time of his statement, the machine was running A-OK again ๐ so you can say he did stick all his 4 legs on his mouth ๐
people involved in the program still laughs very hard about ๐
so do i ๐
Camaro.
I said suposedly not for the existance of the missile in Peru, only for the number, and operational state.
for many people, since 1998 a dozen R-77’s were acquired, none has been ever fired, none are operational and the pics showing them are just to make them look “way cool”
the same people are waiting for the Peruvian Air Force to:
1- fix them (after 7 years already  )
2- fire test them all 12 and put it on video and on the net (so there’s prove they were operational ๐ )
3- buy a dozen more and show the bills on the net to prove it as well
and repeat the same cicle over and over again ๐
BME330 my dear friend, that dozen is in good shape, thrust me on that ๐
