and another one of my favorite babe…:D
my pleasrure dear arthur 😉
about the tucanos, the only issue was that with the re-organization of the armed forces was that there was too many of them so they decided to put some for sale (6 total) bought by angola, that was it.
about the sukos…yeah! i wish i was there myself, the reason they put up that show (it was public) was to make things clear, because of the inmense BS going on on the news due to the massive dissinformation at the time and of course…no weapons were shown 😀

the M2000 giving you a bad hair day:D

dear arthur.
you’re right but the truth is far from:
The Fitters, Hinds, Canberras, Tucanos and very likely the Mirage Vs are all grounded.
lets go for parts.
1- fitters remain operating, about 20.
2-canberras yes all grounded.
3-M-5 yes the same but on long therme storage
4-hinds yes again all grounded
5-tucanos are operational.
as far as i know canberras and m-5 are no more useful, the same or better can be acomplished with the remaining aircraft.
another, a contract was already signed (AFM) with the russians for the whole russian package on the peruvian forces and that was last year and its being done as we speak.
anyway, the arrival of the f-16 to chili and whatever brazil chooses will put them clearly on the lead.

by the way…i’ve forgot
about the ecuatorian kfirs, you make it sound big, when only 4 were upgraded to “ce” standard and that in 2000, god knows how many fly today.
other thing, when the ecuatorian government went to the russians to trade Mig-29 for oil, the answer was…sorry boy, no cash no planes
so in todays world in latin america the Peruvians have the first, chile and brazil just one notch below and ecuator “may” be on 5th place below the argentinian.:D
Camaro;)
dear juan sosa…
the way you did “clarify” some points was good but not good enough, you sound like a very patriotic ecuatorian speaking.
please allow me to fine tune your concept of history…
in 1941 and then again in 1981, the superior FAP or peruvian air force effectives did kick his ecuatorian counterparts asses so hard that it kept burning all the way to 1995, when the situation was reversed, i suggest you read “peruvian fitters unveiled” from this magazine (AFM) and document yourself on what happened…
when the cenepa war started… only 7 Su-22 aircraft were operative with crappy RWR, plus a similar qty of M5.
the M2000 had no weapons, so bad that they only painted ecuatorian aircraft with their radars hoping (as it happened) that they will just run away.
so far as for the “inferior” ecuatorian air force kicking superior peruvian ass,
FAP never had any air superioriry on the cenepa war at all, the air superiority was on the ecuatorian side and they knew so they acted upon.
i hope this is helpful for your historic events recollection.;)
Camaro.:D
the “official” admission that the Peruvian R-77 was inoperative came from “la republica” which is one of those “el cheapo” (cheap)newspapers that people with education just dont read, thrust me on that.
sensationalism is their game and the abuse of the freedom of expression without base, other use for that kinda’ newspaper is:
toiletpaper.
Camaro.:D 😀 😀
do you guys have an idea when is the exercise going to take place? i’d love to follow it.

man this thread was loooong to read…
to me is pretty simple, switch weapons between (for example) the arabs and the israelis (i mean weapons and weapons only, ain’t talking about doctrine nor training nor race)
the israelis would have kicked ass the same or worst for the arabs, no offence to anybody, wether their weaponry was russian or american or from mars.
its all inside the BRAINS and that means “the science of training”
