One of the guys i used to work with is in a couple of them (kinda balding guy playing guitar with a lamp standard) havent seen him since to slag him off, also, the larger lady with red hair in a couple stays round the corner from me….:eek:

I wanted her – the entire aviation heritage community wanted her – we still want her, but we were kept in the dark until it was too late. The biggest problem has been trying to contact the owners (emails and faxes going unanswered)…

Size is important, but shouldn’t be used as an excuss. Is the Vulcan at Southend too big to be preserved? What about the DAS collection @ Duxford?

Me thinks that Flypast Magazine should step in – it’s about time they did something other than report the news. They should make the news. Yes, I know they sponsor Sally B, etc – but considering they have more resources (telephone, fax, people on the ground and INFLUENCE etc), they should have a better chance of saving this old girl.

Excuse me, but why is this thread entitled Roger Taylor then harps on about Paul Rodgers replacing our Fred, I don’t understand, Taylors got nothing to do with it, apart from being in Queen.
Do you actually know who Paul Rodgers is, are you aware of his great rock and roll past, have you heard his vocals with Free and Bad Company, if not, sound them out.
Nobody will ever replace Freddy Mercury, there’s no argument about that, the old band and Paul are quite aware of it and aren’t attempting a true replacement. Quite frankly, when there was a Freddy tribute concert a few years ago, several singers sang with the original band and in my personal opinion, and I hate to say this, the only singer that came close to reproducing Freddies charisma on stage was Robbie Williams, I’m certainly no fan, and he was no soundalike, but to me, his, camp, strutting attitude, relationship with the audience and massive ego did it for me. Yes it was all about Robbie, but then originally, it was all about Freddy as well. Where is Williams now, a waste of a talent, like him or not, there’s something there, it could have been a good combination if he was harnessed properly. Unfortunately, I’m sure that the old band realised that Queen plus Williams would inevitably turn into the Robbie show, Brian May having to play ‘Angel’ for the adoring fans would be a disaster, it would never work, or would it, it may have turned out to be good fun, which is what Queen was all about.

Matt, I know that you’re a very enthusiastic, young keen type, willing to please and get involved, we admire you for that, but please think about what you are posting, please note the joyous replies to your Mountain Bike thread. Many of us on here are a bunch of old cynics anyway, just sit back for a minute and read some old threads and judge the mood, many people on here know so much, fools aren’t tolerated, including me.

We had one heavyish shower (in west essex) for about 10/15 mins at 4:30ish, so not bad. Been dark and horrible all day tho
