Perhaps Deltair can help? They stock parts and rebuild those engines.

Many thanks to all the photographers who filled the diary this year. Happy New Year to all.

Does anyone know if the aircraft is to be kept live? I’d be interested in volunteering if it is.
I thought it was going to have its engines removed?
I believe the plan is to keep her live (as they did with the Vanguard for many years) and taxi her if possible.
I should contact the volunteer coordinator at the museum. I know there is a small team that looks after the
one at the museum.

And what about Photo & Tech Archives??

I believe they are in the building with the Concorde flight simulator which I understand is OK.
After the disastrous flood when the strat chamber and clubhouse were swamped work was carried out
when the Mercedes world complex was built to reduce the risk.

Sir George Edward’s famous pork pie hat ‘rests’ on display in Delta Golf, Brookland’s Concorde.
I think he will always be remembered there and long after the politicians who ‘provided’ the Fourth dimension
in aircraft design.

The fatigue airframes were tested to destruction and the Farnborough test rig was demolished. I did read that the foundations are still there. If you can read this thread on Concorde SST the replies are from a former Concorde team member. http://concordesst.yuku.com/reply/42643/static-fatigue-test-airframes#reply-42643
There are a few structural test specimens at the Brooklands Museum.

It is rather tucked a way in Brooklands Museum’s Wellington hangar now.

Thank you again. I have emailed a link to this thread to their office.

Found this on PPruNe a few days ago but I haven’t seen anything on here yet: http://www.pprune.org/military-aircrew/526832-brian-trubshaws-logbooks-sale.html
The auction site is here: http://www.the-saleroom.com/fr-fr/auction-catalogues/dominic-winter-book-auctions/catalogue-id-2888949?categoryid=165544
A shame that this was announced at short notice (at least I only picked this up a few days ago) as with a bit of preparation I’m sure Brooklands or Yeovilton would have loved to put in a bid. This stuff really belongs in a museum so I’m hoping someone will put up the money and loan/donate them to a suitable venue. Another option would be for the buyer/seller to let them make copies of the logbooks.
I did post this yesterday.

I agree with your and the Pprune poster’s sentiments.

What has happened to the Fury? It was on the website participation list but I didn’t see it even in a hangar. Not in another container is it? I too drove up from Kent. At least at Duxford if the airshow was cancelled there is still the museum to wander around.

The FAST Museum at Farnborough have a Jindivik on display, may be they have manuals?

The ‘Biggin bump’ is separated from the airfield by a busy 4 lane carriageway. You wouldn’t have to be a ‘freeloader’ to be caught by debris, just a road user.

Jagan. Danny42C is the current ‘star’ story teller on this thread on Pprune. He has told his story of flying the
Vengeance in India earlier in the thread.

Nice flying shots of the BE2 replica with Mr Bodington demonstrating ‘hands off’ flying. 😎
