I suspect this is a ‘plugmeister’ plot to get ‘fools’ to start the digging for the new development!

There is a Bomber Command memorial stone on Beachy Head, where the bomber stream left England.

Edit to add. And the Eastbourne airshow is in August….

Do the Mods approve of this? The only Historic aviation connection I can see is that ‘Kate Middleton’s’ future husband is patron of the BBMF.

I checked the MAPS website before paying a visit to find that the Lysander never arrived there!
    I wonder why? http://www.mapsl.co.uk/

It says at the top of the list that when the CWPH agree with display organisers, they will be listed.

I can see Twin Otter promoting a Cockpitfest prize for the best quilted or knitted cockpit! He never misses a trick!

I have read many times that pilots would be charged 2/6d if they lost the ripcord. Weather this was official or a squadron ‘joke’ fine I don’t know. In ‘First Light’ one of Geoffrey Wellum’s chums returned from a bail out, very drunk clutching his spilled parachute and waving the ripcord!

Would it be possible to connect the cockpit lights, instruments up to a computer?
Would make an interesting, interactive display. Watch the Concorde prep for flight.

The Brooklands Concorde, Delta Golf has all its cockpit instruments illuminated. I watched the chap wiring up the flight engineers panel. He fitted small fan units (like on a PC CPU) to keep them cool. The flight simulator instruments move when the sim is in manual mode and like DG they are illuminated.

That question has been asked a few times since the cancellation was announced many weeks ago but answer came there none, apart from some considered speculation.

So this year my little surjon to Lincolnshire via Duxford will be via Old Warden instead then.
I always did try to get to a Duxford event once a year.

Has there been any explanation of the cancellation of the Autumn Air Day? I noticed on the website it does say
‘ There is no Autumn Air Day in 2014‘ Perhaps something else is planned?

German participation was a little thin!

Good job it was. If they had found out and interrupted…….

The wording on the post implies that when Scampton ‘closed down’ the items came from the museum. As there is a museum on the site now, how were these items sold or given away?
