A BBMF aircraft is scheduled to display/flypast there twice today. But which one is not listed.

The ‘elf and safety’ will be along soon to tell us it’s radioactive….

So is the in season repaint for a film or TV part?

Kev 35. Looking at the entry on Ancestry. He was born 20th December 1911.
He received his licence at Oxford flying a D.H 60 on 10/7/1938.
Only one of that name on their list.

I believe a Grand Slam was dropped in the UK (as a test!) before it was used in anger. In the West country somewhere?

There was an excellent series made in the 80s I believe called ‘The way we worked’ One was about the aircraft industry from the start up to the building of the Tornado. It featured Sir George Edwards and many other plane makers
of all levels. They told it how it really was.

I thought the Valiant was given little time compared with the other ‘Vs’.
As already said the Buccaneer received scant mention, but I suppose we all have different favourites!

From what i saw on my occasional visits the effort put in on the ‘JU52’ almost matched that on the York, though on a shorter timescale. I just hope where ever it goes all that effort doesn’t go to waste.

A post on Pprune says the VC10 will retire on the 28th August after a 3 ship flypast of its former bases. Will they be landing at Brunty?

A VC10 on static display?

The Daily Mail do have a corrections and additions panel on page 2.Perhaps if they had been told they would have corrected it?
Very often they say that it was an agency report error.

I have been a member of the LLA for many years. As has already been said it is run by volunteers and from what I have read in their magazine they have had problems with retaining people in some key posts.
I live 200 miles away so my visits are occasional but I still feel connected.
Updating the website and subscription system would I’m sure bring in more members benefiting the LLA and the BBMF.

I have visited them many times over the years. There is a notice at the entrance that the RAF Museum does not permit photography of it’s aircraft being restored there.
I second Andy’s comments but should point out that Lewis Deal was awarded the MBE and MAPS the Queen’s award for voluntary excellence.

😮 I guess he’s way out in the country. 😉
!0 out of 10 for effort.

I liked the Queen’s smile as she pointed upwards at the BBMF. It said ‘The sound of freedom.’
