Could that have been the Javelin now at Duxford?

Meanwhile Sgt. Copping’s bones lie in the desert uncared for and unburied by either government….

Best wishes to all Duxford’s photographers/reporters for the updates this year. The first year I have missed a visit in 30 years. 🙁

I am surprised those buildings don’t have electrified barbed wire fences around them! Doors wide open and few people about…
Jaw dropping sight though.

Looks like that new lens is working OK! the RAFM will have to turn the lights down even more! Thanks for all your photos this year Brian, first year I haven’t been to Duxford for about 30 years.

The Brooklands ‘walkthrough’ was fixed on the wall of the old Bellman hangar. It used structure unusable from the recovered aircraft.
I understand there is similar exhibit in the newly opened halls there.

In the left corner it appears to be a cine camera and operator (2nd unit?) filming it?

Geoffrey Wellum hit one learning to land his Spitfire at night. It needed a new wing! That thing looks like a lighthouse!
Thanks for the reference.

That TV programme was about Porton Down. They were even dealing with weapons from overseas.

Some years ago I read about the bomb disposal during the war and there was an account of the disarming of a V1 (the first successful attempt?) I believe it took several days and they used acid from a local girl’s school lab to destroy a fuse! It had crash landed in woods.
I think it was in Surrey.

Thanks for the report Paul. I would have liked to have a few days up there and attend it. The RAF say 50,000 attended over the two days so hopefully it will continue next year.
Was there much access to the museum and hangars?
