    Oh no 😡

This cropped up a while ago in the newsletter of the BMFA (British Model Flying Assoc.), apparently the publishers of this Spitfire thing had approached them for advice or some kind of endorsement. The BMFA (IIRC..) replied offering help and support if the magazine was to use a more sensible design (thinking more along the lines of an electric, lightly loaded high wing ‘parkflyer’)… unfortunately the publishers totally ignored the offer of advice and support and went down this rediculous spitfire route alone

In 50 parts – a non-descript easy flyer which is not a model of anything in particular for you to paint as you want…” Not going to entice people to buy it, is it?
At £5.99 a go think of it as like a mortgage: paying out lots of money over time for something that might never be yours (publishers/bank manager allowing you to carry on until the deal is complete). – Nermal

Not wanting to hear about smoking I let my mind wander along paths which turned the name of this thread into Filthy Hobbit, and wondered what that might entail. Must stop sniffing the laundry bag before washday – Nermal

Come on – what could a garden ornament say that would need removing?
Unless it was something about how he holds his rod…;) – Nermal

He was pressured into the marriage.

So an ideal man to become king, then! – Nermal

Flood, delete the thread – or lock it. I think I understand why you did it but its doing you more harm than good. – Nermal

    Jerusalem would be my choice.

Get more votes for Rule Britannia, more people would have heard of it for one thing – Nermal

But more importantly, why are they getting married now? It’s been fine so far for him to stay unmarried in his relationship to her, what’s changed? Why not continue like that? There’s more to this than is being said. What’s the benefit of this marriage?

Probably a tax dodge, if its anything to do with his finances being probed in the last week or so…
And you can slag Diana off but she wasn’t the one who started the marriage break up. On this basis, and the idea of the king to be not marrying a divorcee whilst her husband is alive (thats him up for an early departure, then), should he actually become king? – Nermal

I suppose it’s the same as taking a plane and seeing if you can fly it faster then the last bloke….

Do tell when was the last time you heard mention of the fastest airliner (different class, remember) to fly the Atlantic since Concordes demise. Would the passengers all be given certificates denoting their part in the exercise?;) – Nermal
