Hi WP
2 Gladiators of 247 squadron were damaged one at Usworth and one at Turnhouse on July 23rd 1940 both were in Transit but I am not sure if they were Combat related or if maybe the had a bit of a mid-air
so how low do you go before you call it a landing??? is that Don Bullock again in the B17 and is that Andrews Field ?
I mean, do not get me wrong, it can be done.
But is this not instead a 180 degree rotated picture ?
yes I did know twas a joke, + me old mate Gary looking a bit Camp in that picture !
Blimmy !!!! Sally B inverted mid Barrel Roll !!!!!! 😮
Thank you Keith, I will forward the info on credited to you,

OK lets wait for Rocketter to arrive on this one but I would hazard a guess that its from wing sections or tail plane Mod Plate.
Modification Plate;
This makes it easy to identify if a part has had the latest modifications carried out, remove inspection panel and hey presto you can tell if this mod has been done or not, so this part had been modified to Drawing issue 159 this would have made the airframe fitters work a lot easier.
Hi Old Eagle
Looks like a Mod Plate to me not a makers plalte,the Makers Plate has HAWKER AIRCRAFT Ltd on the top I must dig out a picture of one for you.
Hi Parthfinder,
I am more than sure that is Plexiglass and I would think you may find that the burn damage has come from a .50 round being discharged very close to the glass due maybe to on-board fire.
Note the scorch is confined to one area, The Plexi was burnt after it had been shattered/broken due to the fact the scorch can be seen over the broken edge which confirms after and not before distruction.
Just my thoughts on this.
I would say MkII B wing but I am sure someone here will confirm that, Great model you have there Starfire
is this not just after Geoffrey Page had his cockpit fire ? it maybe that the hospital said he must protect his face from the elements and this is what they came up with to get him back in the air asap.??
