A major problem can be incorrectly torqued wing attach bolts. Constant aeros can cause problems so maintenance must be on top. Any loose bolts should be replaced with new ones.

Then there was Lt Frank Luke of WW1 fame who wrote of more than 5 aircraft and his CO wryly suggested that he was now an “ace”….for the other side!

Feet wet Avengers. What a nice sight. You are of course correct in your observation that the Avenger was one of the GREAT aircraft of WW2. FRom the beginning to the end and some. Sort of a Gooney Bird of bombers….
