Better than dieing of boredom.
Nice pics, I had a most enjoyable day, not much “aero” in the jumble but I did pick up a nice Dinky Stuka and my mate got a nice BoB 50th comm plate.
Arromanche is a nice place to stay, its location is ideal being in the centre of everything. I go there for 6th June every year, take plenty of cash though as the prices of beer and food can be eyewateringly expensive.
Looks like a good film, the CGI looks OK, certainly will appeal to the X-box generation. Only real put off for me is the usual American mushy, jingoistic, coming through against all odds, brothers bonding in battle, sentimentality crap.No sign of any “love interest” yet! Where’s Halle Berry when you need her!
NOT a criticism of the project… just a point that from a curatorial point of view an aircraft like R6915 tells us more about how things were done in the 40s. The two things are complementary – an aircraft that hasn’t been significantly restored since its wartime service is valuable for study. An aircraft like P9374 allows the experience of seeing a flying early Spitfire, and allows pilots to experience what an early Spitfire was like to fly.
Although I am against hanging Spits (or any other type) from wires at least the ones in Chicago and the Imp War Museum have been left alone, and are prob the most original early Spits left. Although they are hardly “accessible for study”.
Just fantastic!.Well done to all involved.
Sounds like fun, its either that or the Ace Cafe, hope the weather stays fair.
Great isn’t it.

Used to Gold Pass it every year, too expensive now and the weather has been too unpredictable.
Not the Russian one then?.
