767s seem to be going up a lot more often as when the 757 goes tech the rostered crew can still fly the 767 due to the common type rating. You do get a lot of Long Haul configured 767s up your end, and MAN gets a few 777s and 747s a year, but can’t think of anything recently to EDI or GLA.

Does the 757/767 commonality not stretch to 777s Mark?

Nor at GLA either, I can only think of about 3 instances in the past few years? That said there was quite a recent one this summer, In May G-VIIM came in on a Gatwick flight.

You did at least get them..I understand ABZ got one too.?

Yes you can book online, they tell you your flight will cost £24 million, then by the time it’s ready it’s shot up to £240 million ! (lol) :dev2:

And then being told the aircraft would be cheaper based
    exclusively at Glasgow.? 😮

Great Pics! :d love the SAS B737

Speaking of G-VIIM, i saw that along with another BA 772 at EWR while i was there

777s @EDI are rarer than EDI long-haul charter
    flights. 🙁

There have been the odd instances of 777’s doing the shuttle routes lately. Usually down to BA’s fleet shortages or when a few services have been cancelled or delayed creating a backlog of passengers at LHR trying to get home.

Not @EDI Allen…BAA do not seem to encourage BA’s.

    shame.

not that they would have any trouble getting in and out anyway.

I don’t think BAA would approve…. The president of Vietnam
    got special dispensation..see this

    Love the SAS shot 🙂

A 738 is rare..those loads must be settling down.

I would love to get the shot from a Charlie One take-off,
Alpha One tends to put them kinda high..

    I do have my sources, Joe….. 😉

As I said earlier, I was given to understand that G-VIIM did a EDI-LHR earlier this afternoon and that’s quite literally all that I know about it.

Pity… the EDI guys just turn-up and wonder what will touch-down next.

We used to get advance warning until a ‘Biggles Moustache’
    type spoiled it… 😡

    Nice pics as usual, Joe.

    Wasn’t there a B777 operating BA0146 EDI – LHR today?

The nearest to that number is BA1446 due in at 1515?
If I had known about a BA 777, I would have camped-out all night! :diablo:

Do you get advance info Grey Area.?

No to mention the population demographic.

26M against 5M ? Perhaps the cargo at MAN was primarily
    Man United strips? 😉

Excellent report, excellent pics, biggest surprise being the inflight
meal…I have never had an inflight meal on a USA domestic flight yet. Assuming it was a domestic.?

Found these and some more photos in an album.

Memory jerkers indeed! Thanks for sharing..

Air Transat’s Tri-Stars were replaced at EDI by A310s
    but are fondly remembered.

travelling between edinburgh and glasgow can be a very stressfull affair.
It took me 2 and half hours to travel the 35 miles between the cities last week, and that was on a Saturday.

A two hour advisory time would be ‘generous’ in the circumstances.?
