Howard, I only caught the tail end of the story, as my wife was dishing dinner up, so I an unaware if they will put up some sort of Memorial, (Unless one exists already),If not, then they should, they, along with others deserve one.

There is one of sorts at the Petwood Hotel, the former officers mess. Now owned by a cousin of mine, there’s a room dedicated to the Dam Busters and can be hired for special occasions. Next time I’m in contact, I’ll see what is known about these latest developments.
I think, but take don’t this as verbatim, that a few months ago, a French chap also got killed, skimming a Mountain ridge.
At the end of the day, yes, as in many such sports, you know the risk you re taking, and somtimes, have to pay the price. I wonder what thoughts go through their minds when they realise what’s about to happen.

IF they have time to think, it’s probably “Oh! ****”.
Always thought that a death would be due to mis judging their height, not a chute failure. Sad news indeed.
This stuff doesn’t go into the tank, it’s not an additive.
That smell, that gasoline smell. It smells like when I used to go to the Speedway, The Rayleigh Rockets
It smelt like Victory. 🙂
Yea, go the Rayleigh Rockets. Used to go see them every time they raced at home. Pity the stock cars that come later, ruined the track and the bikes disappeared. Even the stadium’s gone now. Happy days of my youth still remembered.

Getting back to the ‘construction’ part of this thread, are there any updated videos/photos of said construction? I hear the at least one part of the ‘ski ramp’ has been fitted. Is that the latest situation?
Sorry can’t help. Before my time with 47 Sqdn Bev’s.
Hang in there. Don’t spoil the ship for a ha’path(half penny) of tar.
Great job Phillip. What displays are you going to place in front of it, and how many?
Hi All,
And some more.Geoff.
Eenie, meenie, minee, mo, In which soil my seeds to sow? 🙂
Not my intention to take anything away from those involved in the scale Mossie project as I truly believe it is a wonderful achievement. However, the scale modeler in me says “if only they had paid just a tiny bit more attention to a couple of key areas”. The top side views are really fantastic and serve to hide a couple of the more egregious discrepancies in the outline. A monumentally ambitious project no matter the slight scale innacuracies.
Picky, picky, picky.
I can’t help with it’s identification but I reckon it’d make a great basic ultralight. Somewhat different from the norm.
Hampden98, how can I not reply since I was born at 90 Hampden Road, (Harrow Weald) 😀
In your search for knowledge, discount the Split Flap, at least initially, as it’s counter intuitive. Looks more like an air brake than a lift device.
TonyT, you from Australia? So happy to see our Recreational Aviation Australia tutorial suggested. A good resource for all budding pilots and or home designers.

I’d much rather see them up there in comparative safety and totally aware of what they’re doing than on the ground, texting with iphone plugs in their ears and totally unaware of whats happening around them as they walk the streets.
