Judging by lack of response to the word Cobra, I’m guessing no Cobras have been lost thus far?
Right.
I was just asking. 😉 Seriously I have no issue with what is going on I just like to know, like they say knowledge is power. 😉
Did I sound offensive? 🙂
Sorry if I did.
I was under the impression that it was an embedded IRGC unit which was responsible for that attack?
One can not blame the lebanese army for such actions, their country is after all being systematically demolished.
Blame them or don’t, Israel has targeted anyone who threatened its military forces, even if they were indeed from inside the Lebanese army. That, while still not viewing the Lebanese army as an enemy, and hopefully it will remain that way in the future.
Attached is a link to a video news item from the Israeli television about the Apache crash:
http://news.walla.co.il/?w=//944480
Units within the Lebanese army have been reportedly attacking IDF/AF planes and have assited Hizballah to attack the Israeli warship INS Hanit.
Two Apaches (AH-64As), one crashed, the other heavily damaged during a not so successful crash landing.
One pilot killed, three injured (one lightly and two seriously).
Hi,
Does anyone know a source of information for the IDF operations in Lebanon?
All I seem to find in the news is pictures of rubble, casualty figures and footage of M-109 howitsers firing.
Can anything be found on what the intended targets were, how many sorties were flown, how much ordnance dropped, which aircraft types were used…?
Have they encountered AAA, SAM’s, the SyAF?I don’t intend this to be a thread about whether the operations should take place or not. I gather there was one thread about the current crisis here but it got moved when the (not un-expected) mud-slinging got pretty bad.
Cheers, Transall.
You can get the official IDF perspective here:
http://www1.idf.il/DOVER/site/homepage.asp?clr=1&sl=EN&id=-8888&force=1
It was a Zilzal missile which self ignited after an IDF attack (the Zilzal uses liquid fuel). The IDF released a footage of the strike, showing the missile flying.

Seems the myth of professionalism and invincibility is fast disappearing from Isreal forces.
Your comments are becoming increasingly ridiculous, A-2-S. Read the article that you’ve posted – it clearly states it was a technical failure of some sort. Or would you like to tell me that technical failures do not happen in ‘proffesional’ militaries?

Shhh, Erez.
The weather is a peculiarly British obsession. It’s always too hot, too cold, too wet or too dry. Sometimes it’s all four at once! :diablo:
We’re just validating our shared cultural experience here. We’ll be singing “God Save The Queen” next, you see if we don’t. :D:D:D
Cool, it’s like watching a BBC documentary, “Walking with Brits” 😀 😀 😀

Meh, you Brits have no idea what hot means 😎
Hot means: Walking for seven hours in the desert, in the summer, sweating yourselves to death, only to then rest inside a black tent during the hottest hours of the day. It was probably around 50-55 degrees. Yep, August 2005 was fun 😀

“The French reportedly have ferries with the capacity for 1,000 people, but are only taking French nationals, New York City architect Naji Moujaes told FOX News. Moujaes was on a business trip but brought along his wife and infant child.
“If your wife is a French national and your son, then they will take you,” Moujaes said. ”BS.I know for sure that there is Bulgarian women and children on the board.
BBC said they were taking French and EU citizens.
