shame about the tractor………lol……i think its individual preferance, if you can do it well enough not to tell, such as the cone shot above (I cant tell its re-touched), then go for it…..I have done it for some of fairford 2k4 to remove some of the building work from the background………

the main problem with these evac tests is accidents to testees, in fact people have been killed testing the evac system of an airliner. Evac testing is no little thing, lots of quite serious injuries can and do occur from just using the slides.

Airbus have worked with the CAA on computer simulated evac tests and i believe that airbus will be using the a380 to validate some of these results.

I see that airbus are validating what they expect to be the maximum capacity of the aircraft for a large part of its life, There is the opportunity to stretch the fuselage of the a380, but i doubt it will happen as we are stressing the structure to a max weight of 600 tons total and as the heaviest -800 is operating at about 580 tons mtow there is probably 20 tons of structure, in a 7 m fuse plug, at least.

modern centrifugal compressors are harder to manufacture than an axial compressor stage, however they have lower parts counts, (you should see the latest RTMheli engine design….hardly anything there at all in comparison to similar powered axial flow engines)and, for the purposes used are proven to be a better design solution than an axial flow engine.

your question is a vlaid one…todays computers should be able to deal with ‘beaming targets’ my guess is that Doppler Shift has been left behind with the advent of agile beam/frequency (LPI) radars that dont necessarily rely on doppler shift to detect a target.

that sentence stretches my understanding of the subject to a high extent….so I would only be potentially bs’ing if I went further….

it is my understanding, as with the JSF, that boeing wanted to do a major redesign of the S-92, AFTER it had won the contract, in such a way that the s-92 will not be representative of the real thing, and will be more expensive (even if they say it isnt now!) and will take longer to come about.

agusta westland only have to worry about design intefaces for stuff they are not allowed to get their hands on, such as the ecm/comms gear that will only be seen by americans.

well done agusta westland! good luck for the PRV contract!
