The methods used by Ryanair to get a good deal out of suppliers have been common in big business for a fair while. The supermarket chain Tesco has threatened suppliers such as Baxters of Highland soup fame . Tesco bluntly said they would stop a big order from Baxters unless they sold the tinned food at the price Tesco wanted. As for mean attitude to flight crew, I know of one UK air freight companty that tells crew to buy their own maps, flight docs etc. What makes Ryanair stand out is that they are clear about what they are doing and do not hide the truth completely. I was at first of the view that Ryanair was a bad company, now I think it is one of many and does not deserve to be singled out.And it is not bad, just open in its methods.

In the long run the cheap selling of goods and services is wrong because those at the end of the chain loose out, wages are kept low,customers really miss being provided with a good level of service or product and only the big business wins.

a.. people in a line at a shop or post office always chat to each other.
b…people in a pub can always chat to each other in a normal volume and tone because everyone else in the pub is very quiet.
c..the jukebox or telly in the pub is always just in the background and never stops you hearing what is being said.
d..in a wild stormy night you can always see enough clearly to climb up the bank of the river or escape from danger in a wood.
e..Every security point will have barriers made of balsa wood and guards who cannot possibly hit a car from 10 feet away.

Many deals in business are done in confidence for many reasons and provided the people involved follow the law there is no need to explain to the public how it was done.

In the historic aviation world small numbers of business people have managed to get military airframes released and restored after battling for an average of 8 years with red tape and this has happened in at least 4 countries.

You will never get details published on a forum like this but there are a few books around which give a sense of the time and effort involved. I have not noticed anyone getting rich with the deals and it appears that many subsidise historic aircraft from their other business interests.

This is a very good reward for all that searching. I have dived on tropical reefs trying to locate wrecks and it is very tricky .
