Ditto Glenn Miller: I think he’s still missing. Might be worth posting some stuff on that too.
TIGHAR survived (survives?) by keeping people hanging on a hook: there was always the promise of something around the next corner and lots of talk of new revelations and discoveries. They also promised members the odd video etc and from what I’ve read very little of the latter ever appeared either.
RAFRochford: the answer is zero, more or less (mostly less).
I didn’t see anything incredible or new.
Lucky chap: spent many a relaxed afternoon drinking lager or coffee on the lakeside at Lindau. I hadn’t really thought of sunken treasure though did see the odd dirigible overhead.
Is there anyone at near Kew that could go and view the SQN diary?

…or you could download it.
I think the target (in terms of displays) is Oshkosh. Mikey was clear from Day 1 that the target isn’t Duxford but to get ‘DTD airborne by/on 6th June.
Remember seeing ‘PUB and Bader at Hurn circa 1975: had often wondered what happened to it. Please let us know if you find out.
No – me neither. Answers on a postcard.
Talking about how somebody died. Weird. Inappropriate. Mawkish then.
Well this got weird quickly. A bit of respect maybe?
Colombia.
Glad that Tramatoa also agrees with ‘Walter’ and I too agree with ‘Wessii’.
To confuse things further, at Benson, “Queenies” was anyone on TQF.
Yes RAF, and they still the term used today at Odiham/Benson, we never called them ‘Walters’ could be a squadron thing, when were you on them?
I clealry remember the CO at Shawbury coming into the crew room to grab a couple of instructors one morning saying “We’ve got to send 3 cabs to Lockerbie….” (Not a good mission unfortunately)
22 SnAR. 🙂
Not a RAF thing then: that explains it. We used ‘Walter’ most/all of the time. ‘Cab’ sounds like a NATO Potato/Cabbage Militaire term.
