s/n is the Fiscal Year that the aircraft budget was approved: as a good example the prototype XP-86 had a 1945 s/n but flew in 1947.
I don’t see the issue: there is always something to see and many shows (not just airshows) have been ‘advance-ticket only’ for a long time without much of a grumble. Quality doesn’t seem to suffer and I always enjoy myself, whether it’s raining or not.
Images all dead but I did find this:

May 1939 issue of Aviation Week (page 55) carried a photo and indicated a first flight ‘last month’ at Wright Field.
Fantastic news: I used to see this T.5 stand on its tail and streak heavenward at Boscombe Down! It’ll be great to see her finally airborne again. Great work by the team.
Hats off to all: great to see such an imaginative and worthy project.
OK thanks: I’ve sent them a message but no reply so assumed something awry.
Matt…………….
What subject did the thread you refer to deal with? Why do you want the OP thread banned/Removed?

Sp*tfires in B*rma I expect. Or the Shoreham crash.
You buying Sabrejet ?
Yeah go on then. Beats reading this tripe.
Anyone fancy a pint? :stupid:
Well I’ve done a Tiger Moth and that was awesome, so I’d go with Stearman or Harvard for sure: a lot of places will do a dashcam-type video of your flight too (it revealed that my back-seat pilot did indeed let me do some turns because with me deep in thought in front you can see him waving his arms outside the cockpit behind me!)
No mystery: these are located near Temple, TX: F-4B BuAerNo 152267 (mod to F-4N) shown here came from gate guard duties at NAS Dallas, but not sure about the F-14s. They are/were Army Reserve property and now likely Navy property (as per the Great Lakes recoveries etc).
It does remind me of a car speedo drive rather than being aviation-based.
Great shots of the Ohka/Baka DCW: you are the go-to guy for good shots of interesting Duxford stuff! :applause:
Not doing a great job of getting folks on side is he? It’s all very non-specific and woolly: I imagine that those of us who were sceptical before are even more so now.
And for, “…only one person was able to read…”, I auto-correct to, “…only one person was daft enough to respond…”
