Would anyone care to speculate on the value of said wing?

Looks very much like those mounted at the navigator, and radio op stations on the c119, N2700 dates from ’51 so fairly contemporary.

HI Rob, with regards to the mic button, the C119 has these fixed to the floor (foot operated) a various stations.

The appearance of WIBAL is nearly as predictable as references to the Stork Hotel! What happened to your obscure post about the Fat Lady, Moggy?

I would imagine after a moment or so of consideration it was deleted, (as was mine) to keep the thread tidy and free from drift……

It’s a good job I don’t easily take offence, as having one thread closed, and two posts in others removed, in less than 24 hrs, one might think someone was trying to tell me something……

With baited breath, then; but why close the thread that was discussing the disappearance?

The first drg is type 337, which was the mk IV ; it’s amazing that drgs survive for a such a rare mk, and also how much they changed, to then not continue with production.

Neither drgs are mk IX, but both are dated 1942, and incorporate the later style of oxygen gauge.

The “spinner” looks like the front half of a conventional spinner, that is sat on the front locating ring attached to the prop hub; even the row of staggered rivets are the same.

Nice caravan/trailer, but a bit steep, and plus 25% premium, plus entry, plus tax, plus other tax…….

Hadn’t noticed until fairly recently, that metal thickness for a specific gauge differs between steel and aluminium (non ferrous) ; e.g 18 gauge is .0478″ for steel and .0403″ for aluminium.

In a recent CAA consultation document, Mr Vacher hinted that the Hurricane might have to be sold, because of proposed changes.

I would look at the ailerons for the Lanc, I would expect construction to be similar; I don’t know what size they are, but they are normally very light, (although often weighted along the leading edge with quite a lot of lead) I would guess at something like 100kg ea.
