Thanks all. In my ignorance i thought it was some kind of sand paper glued on. I am really pushed for time so glueing and sand blast sand sounds good as i have the materials, what sort of glue should I use?
Thanks
Graham
You do ask the most searching of questions, don’t you?
When the chap showed me, I didn’t think to ask what glue he’d used; you could try water proof PVA on a spare piece of metal, as a test piece.
I know of people that have used sand blast grit glued on then over painted; a bit time consuming, but you don’t have to glue them on individually……
I was going to mention the bit of blue “sky” between the stbd trailing edge and the fuselage, was a different colour to all the “other” sky…….
Propellor is rotating the wrong way.
Apart from those cockpits clearly transported on their own trailers I wonder if anyone can share photographs of some of the others being transported or unloaded. How do people moving more than one cockpit do this? eg a Scimitar, Sea Vixen and Hunter!!!!!
Tony collins (owner of the above) has designed the frames to sit on his Ifor Williams flat trailer, they jack up, he backs the trailer under, they lower down, and the legs remove; He’s a professional!!
Or is it the end of the beginning?
That`s cheap !! You`d get over £100 for the vacuum change over on that panel alone.does anyone know which aircraft the section came from ?
The seller had it narrowed down to one of three.
Anyone know who had the NAAFI sign forsale at the aero boot? got a bit of a thing for signs at the moment….
Am I right in thinking that Al Deere stopped naming his A/C “Kiwi”, as originally he thought it would bring him some luck, but after a while it dawned on him that it might not be?
Well it was the pointy bit, which is normally the front….
It can’t be moi you are refering to as my location clearly states “pikey free zone!” and that can’t be Essex!
Yes an excellent day (probably both but I was only there Saturday), probably the most cockpits ever, and the best weather for a few years.
Well done to Tony Collins with the Scimitar, no one should under estimate the amount of work on the cockpit, or indeed the parts gathering for an almost extinct type.
BTW where was everyone 12 0/clock saturday? I was under the tail of the Vulcan as arranged…..
“And a great relaxed atmosphere with good company, great weather, good food, lots of booze and all the music you can handle”.
Are you sure you weren’t at Glastonbury?
Which one of you bought the Lincoln windscreen/instrumentpanel/fuselage section? very tempting….
Well come on then, who won what?
only if it was cheap….
