Not wishing to mis quote mr Hunston, but; ” the government of Yukon owns that plane, we’re well aware of the antique warbird market out there, there’s a lot of money to be made, and even parts can be hot commodities”

The Govt of Yukon clearly had no plans to recover this or any other wreck, to display in Yukon; lets face it, they’ve been there 65+ years, they have had a bit of time to set up a commitee etc etc are, they now not just thinking kerching?

looks like the blades are masked up for the yellow tips.

I lived about 4 miles from Hylands park for most of my life, I move away and Graham comes to town; typical!

Shame about the Hurricane, that would have looked good next to the Spitfire; might I suggest that when Rocketeer and Tangmere come to visit, you make them refreshment in the house, and I bounce off down the road with your shiny new trailer, that’s just what I need!

I am not sure this is that exciting Robert??!!!
I am not a trained tin basher…..so it is not up to the high standards of Airframe Assemblies, Stuart Gowans or their ilk….I am merely a paper engineer….

    Oi, I’m not an ilk.

Why are they no longer at Kemble? hopefully nothing to do with Kemble’s problems with the local residents.

Well I’m with Pete on this, on a non airshow day, DX can have a very theraputic quality, flying A/C of a historic nature enhance this, modern ones(especially Helicopters) dispell it, (as does almost everthing else modern);however my son thinks that F1 at DX is as good as it gets, so really its a case of live and let live, especially as its only ocassional.

Pete, if you think the sound of these engines are annoying, you need to visit us, when its not coming out of the TV, he’s watching ever race for the last 15 years on ewe tube, its even on now!

Robert, you can get a product called “super-etch” which is an etch primer and filler primer all in one; I’ve used this on a composite wood-alloy restoration and it works well, it is single pack, but with an activator, but not a hardener, and not isocyanate.

The Swift was an interim A/C, I don’t believe that it could ever have been anything else, 50’s politics notwithstanding, Hawkers were the preferred manufacturer; wrong place wrong time….

Why not just list forum names and their exhibit,(in this thread) and for those not taking anything, a daub of red paint and the words “unclean, unclean” on a pin badge; just a thought……
