The “A” was quietly dropped in December………..now its just the more apt “F-22A”……..
One less airframe for the C-5M upgrade…….I’m guessing its a writeoff
Well…..if they want C-17s they best hurry up befor the line closes
I am amazed it didnt burn…………..
You left out the AWAACS.
Well….Canada only has one type, F-18….Holland, Belgium, and Denmark only have F-16s……..but……..as far as air to air goes……he who wins will have the better AWAACS.
If UK pulls out of JSF I think the carriers will go with it…….what a savings! 😀
Best wishes
There is no such animal as a “best” aircraft in anything…..
This discussion makes me wonder just why Bell did not equip the P-39 with a supercharger………….Finnland sure was in a very undesirable position. She recieved much sympathy and equipment from England (at least 12 Hurricanes) until Germany attacked the Soviets, then England made the choice (in terms of pure logic, the correct one) to support Russia at the expense of Finnland……
It should be tri-engined mini delta winged and have a very long nose and have extra-atmospheric capability.
And a while back someone mentioned that the Finns did real well with the Brewster F2A…….similarly the Soviets did pretty well with the much maligned P-39.

I feel I must mention that one of the reasons that the F-15 has allways “won” is that-generaly-the US has allways used them with this neat thing called AWAACS. Hard to fight when you’re being tracked while taxing to the runway!
