Well….whoever wants them they better hurry up an order them. The production line will be closed in the next couple of years.
The Vulcan has allways been my favorite
Just seems that the CdG’s deck is very small and the S-3s would have a very large “footprint” if operated by her. As for the COD role……Wouldn’t a C-2 be a better option….if the US Navy was willing to part with one. Or maybe new production………if the Brits get a carrier with cats an arrestor gear they could split the buy…..
$$$$$MONEY$$$$$$$…..(or more specificaly…lack of….)
What type catapults will the French CVF use? C-13s or the new electros?
What condition would the S-3s be in? How many hours left on the airframes……..I imagine the US Navy flew the he!! out of them.
Funny…it reminds me ALOT of the OH-58……
Read today that there are four Indian Navy pilots undergoing carrier qualification down at Pennsecola FL. The first of many I suppose.
The last two F-14 Tomcat squadrons are coming home to NAS Oceana today (Mar, 9, 2006) Hope they do a good flyby.
Agreed. The SH-60 is just too small……..the US Navy IMHO really messed up when they chose that airframe…….
MRH-90 would be a good choice. Hope some fool doesnt sugjest S-92……
Not even Chavez would be stupid enough to give Mr Bush that kind of excuse.
My thinking is that if the US is offering them F-18E with AESA, then AMRAAM would pretty much have to be in the mix. Now, just how many A/C 300 sqdn operates at one time is unknown to me, but 10 airframes seem to be about right for one sqdn…….
With relations tween the US an India the way they are now, I wouldnt be surprised if they actualy keep the AMRAAM capability.
I never have trusted Norway…..they’re just trying to put us to sleep an then when we arent looking…BAM!!! They invade and take over Rhode Island!
