Anyone got a video? It was obviously an armed border guards An-72P.
Each VLS will have 3 Oniks missiles, apparently. If the reports are true, that is.
Anyone who thinks thats an ICBM isn’t really paying attention- compare the size of it to the truck in that photo. It’s too small.
Wait around 8-10 years. 🙂
AL was better than some of the other WW3 novels out there, though there’s always annoying errors that drive me crazy.
Definitely the inexorable Kirov-class, the 099 Peter the Great being of course the greatest of them. I have *huge* pictures of the 099, but
In Kirov-class related news, the Admiral Ushakov (ex-Kirov) is finally going to be scrapped, according to http://www.bellona.no, costing $40 million to do so. The Admiral Nakhimov is of course currently being repaired/refitted and the Admiral Lazarev is still in long-term storage.
More sales for MiG. Good.
I put up the Su-35BM extract on the relevant thread in ACIG.
The first CG-47 Ticonderoga-class cruiser got decommissioned- the Valley Forge. The USN is getting rid of the older Ticos because they don’t have VLS- these are the first AEGIS ships to leave the fleet- Taiwan should get them.
Karelia was my first reaction to, it’s just that I couldn’t make out the characters.
I’m more interested in what the name on the boarding plank says- Kar-?
I’ll try and work on a summary soon, it’s a very long article.
They’re sloppy with updating their web-entries- I used to have access to Jane’s material (don’t ask me how, I don’t really know either) and there was a lot of stuff in the Russian sections that needed editing- I’d be more inclined to trust the printed stuff.
I’ll say this for Jane’s, they’re never stupid enough to pass off obviously amateurish photoshopped nonsense as fact- if I have to choose between CMF and Jane’s, I’ll take Jane’s.
Vymp, can you post the two articles at ACIG? We need a little more updates there.
The Su-35BM extract or the entire article? Don’t want to get in trouble for reposting the entire thing from a subscription website, even though it is free. 🙁
