    RE: Just …

I say I don’t want to hear that from you, because you are one yourself }>.

Yeah, I am a hippy. Many hippies attend airshows and read AFM. Ever been to an airshow? Did you also notice the smell of pot around those plane-spotters }> :7.

And stop saying that I think I’m an expert on world politics. I am not, never said that. It’s only you who thinks that, you and your imaginary world.

Oh, this is a board, everybody has the right to say what he or she wants. But next time I start a new thread (a serious one), please don’t respond to it. There are enough other people who can do this, Vortex, Scooter, Tomcat.

BTW, Phantom, I hope you are not losing respect for me. Please, no!!!!! Don’t. Boe-hoe- 🙁 🙁 }>.

    RE: UN security council

No, I really think at least one European country (or the EU) should keep its seat, as still being an important military and diplomatic superpower. There has to be a representation of each region, now the subcontinent, South-east Asia, Latin-America, Africa have no say in the UNSC. That’s just unfair. The other 4 current members should stay, though I think Russia could also hand over its seat to a more populated country like Indonesia. But I guess the west still sees Russia as a very important member.

RE: WORLDS MOST POWERFUL NATIONS – 2003!!!

In Europe we look at China as one big market which could benefit our own economy. My brother works for a software company (making programs for cinema’s, dancings, restaurants, pubs etc.). Their ultimate goal is to achieve some contracts in China.

Anyone who sees China as some kind of backward country which only goal is to piss of the United States by invading Taiwan should really do some research.

[updated:LAST EDITED ON 07-09-02 AT 06:05 PM (GMT)]Interesting to see what the others have experienced that day … maybe we can tell our grandchildren about it.

Phantom, why do you always have to ruin a perfect thread by insulting me, calling me cocky ##### and so on. Really, if I am one (most likely }>) than you are the last person I want to hear that from.

Ohh, and last remark: why do you always think of liberals as lefties? What kind of pot-smoking, sheep-clothes wearing , VW-mini-van-driving hippy do you take me for ????!!!!!! Do you really think I’m one of those idiots. Boy, wake up.

The only leftist in Europe is Blair, and actually he’s the only one supporting Bush. Explain that to me. I ask you friendly, because my knowlegde on world politics is way too small. You, on the other hand, could learn me something. Now is the time Phantom.

RE: WORLDS MOST POWERFUL NATIONS – 2003!!!

Anti-Americanism means the same as anti-west. We have the same way of life on the continent, but the Anglo-Saxon countries think we can’t stand them. Maybe we are a bit less macho, or have a little bit more experience :D. But anti-americanism, not here.

    RE: GLOBAL DEVELOPING POWERS-2003!!!

I don’t think Mbeki is up to a land-reform plan. In SA, not only farmers form the white population, but also many people in international companies, financial institutions, press …

The new ‘black’ leaders of SA are all educated people, who see the importance of letting the white population stay.

RE: Tony Blair: The little hawk

It’s strange, Blair is the only European PM who’s a socialist, still he acts like a hawk. The more conservative PM’s/Presidents on the continent don’t see anything in a military intervention without the support of the UN-security council.

I think Tony Blair only speaks for himself and not for the whole country (I hope so). It would have been good for himself if he could manage to bring Busk back to sences, but no, instead he choses to follow the same path of insanity. Maybe once he’s PM-off, he can go live with Bush in his Texas ranch.

RE: Tony Blair: The little hawk

I still think Blair would have been a good candidate. But what he said the past few days, well, I think he reached the level of stupidity of GWB. Pity, because he would have got lots of support from the continent in his path to president of the EU. Now he messed up everything, especially the relations between britain and the continent. He is the only person who could bring a common European policy on Iraq. Now the good old paranoia between France and the UK will reach their limits.

I don’t think Blair realises that Britain IS part of Europe, and will always be, and the distance between the continent and the Uj is really slim.
