All the Trident’s had the offset nosegear and it retracted sideways,the main gear extended and the axle rotated through 90 degrees on retraction.
just a note but the Trident 1C had both nosge gear doors open when the gear was retracted,this was due to the fuelling panel was located there.This was moved to the mian gear area from the Trident 1E onwards.

Ok just as an example BA’s early B777’s had the GE90 and after a lot of troubble with the engine BA opted for Trent’s on it’s later aircraft, to me that says it all.:)

Just for the record G-AWZO & G-AWZU performed a duel landing with ZO reporting a touchdown time a full second behind ZU to claim the last touchdown in commercial service.

I also remember Court going bust in 1974 (Clarksons travel) and Court used to be called Autair international….

PS this photo is pre 1968 as G-ARPT in the background was written off by the crashing Airspeed Ambassodor of BKS during 1968 G-ARPI also had her tail ripped off and was repaired a year later only to be lost in 1972 at Staines…
