Well call me Shirley and paint me Green I think this is a step to far if someone has erred they should at least have the opportunity to apologise on the forum if this is needed .And surely there should be provision for someone who has been in breach of any rules to receive a public warning that any further breach’s will result in suspension.

Finaly if its nothing to do with the Burma Spits why has that thread been pulled ?????

In other words it all smells of big brother !!!!!!!.

Do you need any extra fortified liquid refreshment for those attending and where should we meet /gather announce our presence ?.

It may be easy to identify me if they find a Spitfire in Burma as i shall be bright green and going by the name of Shirley :D:D:D:D:D:D

Just be careful with the G45 gun camera if you want to be 100% correct there are about 5 different versions of it and would you believe they all appear on ebay as Spitfire some are 12 volt some are 24 volt some have the kings crown and AM arrow and others have part or no markings go for the right stores reference number for your aircraft if you can. They where fitted to so many different aircraft from ww2 right up to 1960’s jets.I will check the couple we have on the shelf to see if they are any good for you I know they are not spitfire but I think they are Vampire unless the vampire and Hunter used the same one if so and we have one PM me and you can have it for what we paid for it (NOT LOTTERY NUMBERS)

You are to be congratulated on your efforts the photographs show some very impressive work and attention to detail we shall follow your posts with interest.Well done .Do you intend to go beyond the section you are presently building or are you stopping at that ?. I do recall some time ago a B17 tail end with rear gunners position for sale and some other chunks about eighteen months ago on evilbay someone had a lot of stuff and it was not going for lottery numbers.

Oh Pooh sticks that makes life awkward for putting vampires and JP’s back into the air as the costs will surely go through the roof.A friend is having his jet done on a major presently and its costing him buckets he has said that this set of changes could make the difference for owners as to do they continue or not it will also reduce the number of organizations undertaking the work as one man bands will find the costs prohibitive. So there will only be a few centralised companies employing numbers of engineers with all the facilities etc that come at cost.

As AlanL points out, the Venom is now in an RAF scheme marked up as “WR470” and operated by Classic Air Force (Classic Flight, as was).

The Vampire crash was later that same day (02/06/01), and was caused by the wake turbulence from the SeaVix during a tailchase display. The next day (Sunday), the Kingcobra also crashed at Biggin, and on the Monday the PR.XI Spitfire crashed at Rouen.

    An absolutely terrible few days.

Edited to add: I think the Vampire was ex-Swiss AF and not an ex-Vintage Pair aircraft.

Going slightly at a tangent but the Bigging Hill Vampire crash was the one Jim Kerr was killed in and was the ex Vintage pair reserve aircraft ,I was involved in getting it back into the air doing some work for them when it was at Sealand.Very sad four days with the loss of some very respected pilots and owners as well as friends.
