Do 17s and variants are not exactly thick on the groud (or seabed)

You still hear of stuff in the old soviet union or has that been basicaly sold out ?.
I know they ask extorionate prices but if you balance what they might want for one against the costs and the condition of the Goodwin Sands one its got to be a close thing ??.

Looking by the condition of her I woul dnot think it would be hard to pull thing soff it.

We have a lot of detailed video etc from 1995 when we found the Malta Hurricane and seh looked brilliant but when it came to lifting her that was a different matter and the wings basicaly disolved on the way up from 42 metres.Isnt the pencil a lot shallower I think someone said she is in about 60 feet ?.Anyway i think they will have their work cut out and is the end result going to justify the very high costs involved ?.Surely there must be other stuff lying around the world that coul dbe gathered up to rebuild an airframe that is a lot more stable and long term I would have thought a lot more viable ??

If its the one a friend of mine was offered recently it was a lot of money for the amount of airframe rare or not.

What propellers will be used? Cut down available ones or do these have to be reconstructed as well in a similar fashion as Historic Flying had to do that on the Mk I Spitfire set up?

    And the undercart?

    Cheers

I assume the guys at the club have already gone down the route of considering a petition to the local council and government etc with their MP raising a question ?.

I think if need be the members of this forum shoul dbe asked to consider supporting the club with a petition.I for one would glady support a petition and I know a lot of others who would also,I am sure if the local community support them then a petition from them would also carry weight as obviously th elocal communtiy have the voting power to block any alternative plan or planninmg permission even going to ultimately a public enquiry.

Is the supercharger on the Peregrine the same as the one on the Kestrels that were fitted to Miles Masters?

I dont know Merlin Pete is probably the best one to answer that but I suspect not ??

If used unladen it would be exempt from testing, would qualify for free, historic tax and could be driven on a pre 1997 B cat driving licence. If you carry anything in the trailer, it would all have to be plated and tested, would need to be taxed private HGV, assuming used privately only and you would need a C+E, the old HGV1 to drive it.

Oh Pooh that counts that out then !!!!:diablo::diablo::diablo::diablo:
