PeeDee, I’m not really understanding your point. You can’t compare Ryanair to buying a shirt, that analogy simply doesn’t work. Almost everyone who flies even semi-regularly knows exactly what they’re letting themselves in for when they fly Ryanair and it really is as simple as you get what you pay for. If you want to avoid all that crap then fly with someone else. It’s that simple!
Cloud_9, I hate to sound patronising but please tell me you already knew all that kind of stuff happens with Ryanair and it isn’t new information to you?
The point is that no matter what you paid, you still have the right to moan if it goes wrong. Apart from common courtesy (Which Ryanair must have an anti-training course) there is the statutory rights etc.
I bought a pair of really naff earphones today, from the £1 shop. They are for listening to mp3 whilst in the bath (I aint putting my £70 Sony ones near my 2 hour bath sessions!). Gets home with them………one of the Ear-buds is missing. Should I just bin them and put it down to experience of the £1 shop? No way, I’ll be down there as if they’d ripped me off for hundreds!
As I know you are a musicalist, I know they will sound rubbish, but as they are the type that are forced in-ear, they will sound better than the spongey things that sit on the lug-hole.
Outside of the kids/house/bills I assume you mean….
My main interests are always trying to take a better photo……and then trying to get a perfect A3 Print of it! (Yes, printer / screen etc. is profiled regularly with the Spyder).
And, learning more and more about keeping my lovely V8, 4 litre 2 tonne Hotel room in good condition and out of the garage!

Nonsense
They are offered, but the price of that ticket is substituted somewhere along the line in the low cost model. In Ryanair’s case this could be anything from not having check-in agents, charging people to use their credit cards, charging for their bags, charging their pilots, yes, their pilots, for their interview, uniform, training, type ratings, and hell, charging them to have their own wages transferred to their bank accounts, also charging hiked last minute booking charges, charging for a proportion of their plane at higher prices. It’s not as black and while as you make it out to be. This is why it is sustainable as a whole, but as a separate entity, and let’s face it, each passenger is a separate entity, charging £1 for a ticket is not sustainable, it never has been and it never will be. You cannot fill up your plane with 135 passengers paying £1 for it’s ticket.
Paying £1 for your ticket I’m afraid does actually mean you are more likely to get treated like cattle, you cannot expect to hitch a ride on a £35m jet, with all it’s associated costs, from fuel, to pilots, cabin crew, airport charges, airways charges yadda yadda for a £1 and then moan your t!ts off when it all goes wrong. You get what you pay for, it really is as simple as that.
But not all 135 pay £1, you know this. Obviously that aint going to work. Those skint enough to book well in advance pay a £1. Last minutes pay a lot more. The whole formula works. And yes, all the other despicable attributes in your list add to the whole formula. And it’s why the likes of you and I will never use them (I suffered twice due to work, now I’d rather not go at all than suffer them). The “Cattle so feck ’em” attitude must therefore be endemic in all the staff, because cabin staff and drivers don’t know who has paid £1 or £100 so no favouritism exists. And, if you paid £1 for £50 shirt in Marks-n-Sparks sale, and it fell apart, you would moan your t!ts off and you would get your money back or a replacement.
Anyway, I really must crawl in me pit.
I agree, but I don’t believe these particular passengers were told / given this choice. The truth will out in a day or two (Maybe not, X factor/Strictly/Jungle/Kate Will or Wont may overtake in the news I suppose).
I can’t accept that 100 people were given a bus choice and none of them took it. We don’t know this yet.
I can’t accept that none of the 100 were not so angry as to get off the A/c at landing and wait in the terminal where it is warm and one can get coffee, food, clodgy etc.
Something or somebody made these folks into an angry mob by a miscommunication or a lie. And knowing the history of this particular airline…….
Anyway, it’s bed time. This thread will die with the news I’m afraid.
There’ll be another crisis for the forum to discuss tomorrow, a large crash is due, air or rail.
Nighty night campers.
lMO they should keep torturing any prisoners who belong to Al Qaeda/Taliban, as long as it stops another 7/7 or 911 from happening.
lf any of our British Armed Forces & civilians get captured by these terrorists, they usually get tortured & executed by beheading.
Seconded.
The other annoying thing is that some of the Gto bay captives ARE guilty but not proven so. And now they are getting OUR money.

I’ve said this once, and I’ll say it again, and I’ll keep protesting it.
Passengers cannot have it both ways. You cannot travel on a £35m jet for peanuts and expect to be treated different to this. Paying a stupid price for your ticket such as £1 (or even £100) for these types of trips is just not sustainable.
You get what you pay for, and I personally detest Ryanair, and would never fly with them – ever. If you expect to pay peanuts for your ticket, don’t complain when it all goes wrong.
The “Stupid” prices are not offered unless they are sustainable. It isn’t a charity he’s running. The whole formula for their pricing system makes it a business. Accountants would swallow their pencils if the business plan was not sustainable and an ongoing business.
£1 or £100, it still doesn’t give the right of the airline to treat people as cattle.
What complete and utter rubbish.
Did you even read the article or are you just using this as an excuse to vent some biased anger?Ryanair offered bus transportation to all flights that were diverted.
And what would tellling the passengers they were being diverted while still airborne have changed? Make the fog suddenly disappear? Here is the quote direct from the article:
From the conduct of these passengers, I think the situation could have gotten serious if they kicked off while the plane was in flight.
There is absolutely no excuse for abusing staff and ignoring instructions from cabin and flight crew. These people should be banned, from FR if not from flying all together.
The quote is the airlines view. The pax see it different. And how is it actually possible to show bias against these pikey chav charlatan cowboy recidivist of the sky?
None of the reports have stated if any of the booked passengers (On this flight) actually took the bus choice. It casts doubt upon the notion that this choice was offered clearly to these particular passengers.
The reports are quoting RyanAir and passengers. Who is likely to be right? The dubious company defending a mistake or 100 people feeling very let down.
The latter seems correct to me. As I stated earlier, no…no excuse for gobbing on the crew, or anybody.
BBC doesnt mention spitting. No, no place for that.
As for them refusing to take transport, this is the Airline view. The pax. are saying different. 100 pax can’t be all thick and dumb, even if they were French!
This future Queen is a heck of a lot better looking than the current one!
The future Queen is the woman that looks like Rod Hull. Although she won’t be Queen when Charlie is King, I don’t think. Won’t she stay as the Duchess of Cornwall?
Will and Kate won’t get their backsides in a Throne, unless Charlie wants to say no to the job, which he can’t. Liz has got about 15 more years, then Charlie should get the job for about 25. It gives little time for Wills, but yes, mathematically he could get there.

What!!!!
This is entirely the fault of the airline, entirely selfish.
From the news reports, the passengers were not informed that they would be diverted, even though the 3 hour delay was going to make that point obvious to all the airline staff. A 3 hour delay is not a good starting point but to drop them off at an airport that they didn’t want to go to without offering a Bus or other method to get to the original destination!!!! Outrage! Typical of the Worlds most scumbag airline.
Very well done those passengers. Very well done indeed.
The questions: –
Governments paying? No.
Sailing near Somalia during a known hijack period, damn stupid in fact bordering thick as pigship.
Strafing the pirates, oh yes yes YES! We should do it, Governments haven’t got the bottle.
Same as the South African native hijackers, just kill them. How hard can it be??? I doubt if paperwork is needed for the body.
It’s their way of life, so removal of it will not hurt anybody. No mourners for that scum, nor the Somali pirates.
