I’m sure the novelty will wear off for the idiots eventually and they will stop posting their sh*t, just stick them on your ignore list and keep posting your valued contributions
Agree.

The AH-64 clip (plus plenty of others) is available at:http://www.gibstuff.net/aircraft/Videos.html
Scroll down to “224Helicopter_Kills.zip” and save that to disk then open with Stuffit/WinZip etc. and it’s the same mpeg that I’d seen elsewhere that’s since been removed.
Best regards

p.s. I think a lot of people have removed videos from their sites because of the high bandwidth useage.
Impressive collection! Thanks for the link, SOC.

I could only quickly find a link to the shortened one, it’s of a Dutch news/background program. There is a narrow- and a broadband link next to the ‘video’ caption (i think that particulair Dutch word isn’t that difficult 😉 ).

I’m sure the video clip was available when I checked yesterday (using a computer with an insufficient connection), but it appears that it has been removed. Odd…
Sorry to interrupt your constructive discussion here, but I’d like to know if the specified video clip is available online. Perhaps a link, anyone?
Is anyone familiar with a video clip featuring an IR gun camera recording from an AH-64 strafing personnel and vehicles in Iraq (or perhaps Afghanistan)? Just thought you should see it. Please provide a link if you have any download location.

So, has there been anything new since then?
Have to admit hearing the promo for this radio prog was the first time that I had heard of this…Flood.
Not that I know of. I gather certain issues will begin to appear in the media sooner or later.

Thanks for finding it for us, Steve.
Wow, my language was almost embarrassingly stiff back then…

Isn’t that a PAH-2 Tiger HAP similar to the French combat support version? Unlike the AT-dedicated Tiger HAC version the Tiger HAP lacks the distinctive sensor “apple” positioned above the rotor axis.

most modern 4th and 5th gen aircraft have LWRs.
helos have had them for some time.
F22 and JSF are very very likely to get them. i know for a fact LCA has LWRs. rafale has it too. not sure about gripen but expect it there too.
Thanks for the info. Can you name specific types of helos which have or might have LWR technology?

Speaking of lasers when I was at Altus AFB this past summer I learned of a program the USAF is doing to equip its C-17 fleet with a tail-mounted laser that will literally fry the seeker heads of any IR-guided misslies launched at the aircraft. That adds a whole new form of self defense. If you can’t evade the missile, just break it. 🙂
Sounds fairly beneficial. I wonder when missile ECCM technology will eventually enable AAMs and SAMs to ignore conventional chaff and flare countermeasures.
Nice photos, Portugal.
Do you know if the PoAF uses the Falcon 20 for i. e. EW?
