If any aircraft was registered in Malaysia it was 020 (VH-OPI) which spent some time stranded there….
I think you are correct there, so VH-OPI would have been 9M-OPT the one exhibited at Farnborough. I thought I had seen a photo of 9M-MPL somewhere, of course being registered and being IN the country of registration are not necessarily the same thing!:D
A couple of additions to the website:
016 Was also registered 9M-MPL.
020 Was flying last year.
022 Was EC-438, EC-GCH. 🙂
Well, good luck with impressing your new boss! I cannot trace any accident to the aircraft near that time.:)
Don’t look at this item, it sold for £105. It has a 77″ wing span!:D
Sorry, not allowed to vote for yourself.:D
Unless you provide photo and qualifications!:D
O.K. here now, no photos yesterday, but good today. Will see if I have any more photos you might like.:)
VH-DAJ is an AUSTER or?
Correct!:o 🙂
Further trawling reveals that c/n numbers started at 20 which explains the production run of 27.

I have three registrations not tied up with c/n’s, ZK-BDP, VH-DAJ and VH-DAI
which would leave one c/n in the list not accounted for, presumably c/n 45.
Two of the initial twenty were evaluated by the Army.
VH-BOG has been re-issued to another plane.

Welcome to the Forum and good luck with your quest. I couldn’t find anything to help you, so give the following link for people to learn from. There would appear to be five remaining in existence and I would suggest two in Oz, one in NZ, one in the US and one in the UK unless anyone knows different?
A question I would ask if only 27 were built, why are you quoting c/n’s 31 and 45? I believe 21 were built by Edgar percival and 6 by Lancashire Aircraft.
A footnote that G-APCS was used in the film ‘The Running Man’/
Welcome to the Forum TJ and good luck with your quest and restoration. Below is the only service info. I could locate as advised by TB and the fact that it was also registered as EC-WJR. It’s always easier when a plane gets a UK registration initially, kind of produces a chain of procession, usually.:)
1 FP/135 Wg/651 Sold 15.1.53
Are we sure the a/c was in Oklahoma recently? If you look at the FAA site and see a plane listed as “sale reported” with address 73125 OK (often Box 25504, Oklahoma City) that refers to the FAA’s address. Those a/c which are reported sold gets (or got) this id if the buyer had sent his copy of the BoS to the feds, while the new owner had not yet sent his.

Oops, I bow to your superior knowledge!:D I did a comprehensive search for ‘Providence Commuters Inc.’ and couldn’t find anything which is surprising as they had the aircraft for a long time. Here’s hoping it turns up somewhere!:)
Don’t forget Cabair at Elstree were the agents for the aircraft, might be worth a ‘local’ call first!:)
Here is a list of names to start you off with, John Varley, Vic Hargreaves, Derek Johnson, Oscar Elliott, Steve Potter, Bill Freeman, Dennis Cooper, Laurie Adlington and of course Frank Horridge.
And of course we won’t mention Doug Arnold and Don Bennett.
The Auster was probably G-AJIS.
Last reported to be in Oklahoma and sold, for a new life or a respectful retirement?
Thread is quiet, so the changeover went successfully, no critics, complaints or comments?:D
