Gillespie is in California. I believe it was this Stearman that somebody jumped out of in 2004.
You are right, amazing what you can learn from this forum!

North American Airlines.
New one on me, but then I am not that current with the commercial scene. What was it doing in the U.K.? Their predominant sphere of operation would seem to be Africa.
Amazingly there are ten survivors in this mountainous region.:)
There is a report that wreckage has been found and a distress signal was issued. If the reported registration is correct, PK-KKW, this plane was ex Dan Air, B.A. and GB Airways. Not a good start to the year.:(
Keltic.
Did you get my e-mail message two days ago as you don’t seem to have a P.M. function enabled?
They didn’t seem to mind, the steward saw me taking the photos of the moving map and he didn’t say anything. I’ve never had problems taking photos on a plane, at any stage of the flight. I didn’t know there was any rule against it?
Sorry, probably a forum drift, I seem to remember a recent thread where photographers were banned, but it may have referred to reporters only and of course, I can’t find the thread now.
Carry on!
Sorry about your problems, but an interesting report, so B.A. don’t mind you taking photos on board?:D
Thanks, Also I KNOW the RAF still has some engines and props and other spares squirelled away someplace.. So far no luck finding them.
Rick
Sorry about that, have to keep on eye on this site then, but then we do anyway!:)
Wonderful 🙂
Still plenty of Brits there, you’ll find friends quickly. There was until recently a website for Brits in Germany to chat and link up… sadly its gone offline.
Not if you mean Expatica Germany!:)

im English but living in Germany, all the threads seem to be about uk airports here! So come on, lets discuss the cream of the German airport scene!
No cream near me except in the supermarket! Closest is Karlsruhe Baden (thankyou Ryanair!) where I recently discovered that Concorde, a 747 and a Saudi 1011 had landed, once upon a time.:)

Merry Christmas,
Tillerman.
And a merry Christmas to one and all! Great site/sights and sounds and a Connie rescue! The football item looked deftinately out of place, but soon proved to be acceptable.
I know what the supertanker is, but why is it in the UK???
Thanks
The Supertanker is like a Combi, quick change freighter or fire fighter. Not sure whether it has ever operated as a fire fighter in earnest or anywhere else for that matter, but the DC-10 fire tanker seems to have taken No. 1 position in the ‘heavy’ hitting fire brigade being operational in California .:)
In other news, anyone know who owns the 2 beagles in Spain??Rick
This is the Beagle News magazine, don’t know if it is still current but there are a number of e-mail addresses there which should be of use to you.
