This month , after an extended time my Pobjoy engine has ran.

More information to come if requested

Congratulations! The Comper Swift immediately springs to mind. Any plans to attach anything to the engine?

Answered my own question by checking your posts! Best wishes for the future projects,

Gail Halvorsen visited Pope Airforce base in February and also a local school to describe his exploits.

He explained that you should do things for others because it is the right thing to do, not because of any rewards that might come out of it.

Dedicated followers of the Isle of Man’s most intriguing little airline might be interested to know that Alpha One Airways has updated its website, with a wholly new section devoted not to aviation but to overland travel. You can find it at:

This might explain why he hasn’t had time to run an airline! :p

Hi Steve, The Canberra picture here, post 3 was made using Moggy’s method. The photo was transferred into my Picasa file and as it was too large to reproduce here, I tranferred it to Photobucket and then copied it to the post. As you can see, it is not a thumbnail, I guess I could have reduced it again using Photobucket. As you can see from your posts, your images seem to have disappeared somewhere within Photobucket, so maybe start from the beginning, put a photo into P.B. and try and move it! 🙂

The Cameroon Airlines 737 has the engines on it that I was trying to find a picture of in a previous thread about JT9 engines. The holes just behind the leading edge of the intake blow air forward to avoid ingestion of FOD.

Glad to be of help. The holes are seen clearer on the enlarged picture. 🙂

There are four registered, NZT, OEX, OIR and PAJ. PAM was one once but reverted to a two seater I believe.

Here is a photo of a 737 on grass described as a ‘special version’? It is difficult to read the airline but looks like ‘Cameroo Airlines’.

At a slight tangent to the initial post, but probably of interest to Canberra lovers who will view this post, here is a photo of one of the three Canberras that served in Germany between 1964 and 1993. What happened to them?
