No the first batch of 18, 001 to 018 are all vanilla Su-30K’s
Mirage…….
No, I am not having any problem
Flanker,
For PAF it is a big improvement. The mirages form the backbone of their strike fleet and they certainly can’t replace them overnight. The only other strike AC is A-5 fantan, which is generally accepted to be crap. Also they have been buying up all the mirage -3’s available from aussies, libya etc, so not all are in bad shape.
exactly, mirage is a very good plane, but Su-30 is no pretender.
So did PAF obtain the mica’s? I seriously doubt it.
Why would the french combo be better?
I seriously doubt that figure of 37 mil $ per plane. An aircraft like su-30 mki with french, israeli indian and russian tech in it eould atleast be 50 mil. 22 mil is what the LCA fly away price is supposed to be. I can’t see Su-30mki going for the same. Malaysia bought 18 su-30 mkm for 900 mil, tyhats roughly 50 mil per plane.
Yes, but just so happens that R-27/73/77 seem more potent than skyflash or sparrow.
If space and numbers are constraining facts, like say on a carrier then I would prefer the rafale.
IN has currently ordered 16 iwth a possible order of another 30 planes. So I don’t think the cost will be that high. The bars-29 can also be used to upgrade IAf mig 29’s, so the so called development cost is not an issue. I seriously doubt that the mig 29K would cost as much as rafale. Rafale is yet to get any foriegn orders and unless ADA orders 200+ i don’t see its price dropping anytime soon. What other development cost are you talking about. The missiles would be the standard R-27/73/77 and air born uran or klub. If India uses some materials from the MKI program then it should help reduce the cost further.
I doubt that the fly away cost of mig 29K will be 50 mil. Thats close to the fly away cost of su-30mki. 40 mil would be a better estimate. I dobt rafale would cost less than 75 mil for any buyer other than france.
I don’t think so. Though some rajput class will be fitted with brahmos instead of styx.
How would HAwk200 compare with Yak 130, the new russian trainer. I remember reading that it could carry r-27 and r-77.
