The greek mirages routinely lock onto turkish F-16’s , The peace time bull**** is too old and just an attempt to hide the obvious. The Mirages have also embarrased the F-15’s in red flag excercises.

I am not denying that PAF may go for J-10 , but Iam only saying that the chinese avionics are not upto par and PAF knows this. The PLA excercises can be made to say anything, didn’t bisons do exceedingly well against F-16 blk52 of RSAF? It does not mean a bison is a much superior plane to F-16 blk 52. The J-10 option is a definite money saver and needed to replace the old obsolete planes like mirage-3/5 or A-5.

May be not as good (based on lack of available info about J-10) and certainly not as mature. But i most definitely would not use words such as ‘No Match’ without knowing much about it. Primary reasons why PAF would prefer F-16 over J-10 would be ‘ease of integration’ and ‘mature technology’.

The PAF must have been exposed to the J-10, so I don’t buy that they don’t know anything about it. I am sure if it was that good and could match the F-16’s PAF would have simply gone for J-10 alone which are politically and economically a much simpler option.

Did you check the restrictions under which the F-15’s operated? Do you think in an actual one on one combat a bison would survive, much less the chinese crap?

Sure it does, but then J-10 and Jf-17 are almost similar and fall in same category? Why does Jf-17 need different avionics from J-10,, simply because the chinese avionics is below par.

Yes, and unless I am mistaken PAF has gone on record saying that only the initial batches will have chinese avionics, while they would prefer western ones. So is PAf lying?

I am not denying that PAF will buy J-10, just that it seems to be checking out the aircraft first and I seriously doubt they would prefer it over F-16 blk 50+ if available without string and hefty price. 😀 .
