What a beauty… now think about how great a Gemini or a Herpa model would look in this livery…
Do you have FSUIPC installed since before? If so, you need to update that module since FS9.1 won’t work otherwise and crash when you start the simulator. You can download FSUIPC 3.40 at http://www.schiratti.com/dowson.html.
There are some very good hints and tips about FS9.1 and other things concerning FS2004 at FS2004.com’s forums: http://www.fs2004.com/forums/index.php?act=idx
I remember staying a couple of days at the SAS Training Centre in Stockholm Arlanda when I did my last LPC on the Saab 340. I particularly remember the eye-opening TV that came on after midnight!!! IIRC SkyCruiser spent a month there…surprised he didn’t go blind!
Oh dear… I know very well what you mean, please keep in mind that those programmes are not part of the curriculum! 😀

The 727 bug on the 707 is one of the errors… but it seems most of them will be fixed in a patch which will be released soon. If that one’s ok, I’ll buy the package which I’ve been waiting for so long.
I wouldn’t call the Omani Royal Flight, civilian. But for the above, I’ll refrase what I meant. The last civilian “airline” to use the VC-10 was probably Air Malawi.(ie when anyone could book a flight on one!?)
It carried a civilian registration. Hence, in my opinion, it was a civilian aircraft…

Probably the last civilian VC-10 in service was the one used by Air Malawi.
Wasn’t the last civilian VC10 the one used by the Omani Royal Flight? It was retired in 1987 if I remember correctly.

Replying to myself now… but it looks like I’ll wait before I buy this long-awaited beauty.
From reading their forum it seems that it is full of bugs, just like the 727 was when it was released.
And unfortunately, the Captain Sim team replies just like they did when people pointed out mistakes with the 727; either annoyed and saying “it’s just a simulation” or they don’t answer at all. One would have thought that they would have learnt a bit or two about customer care from the 727 fiasco a year or so ago… 😡
Hopefully they’ll fix this one up, they’d better ’cause I’ve been looking forward to it for eons! 🙂

Hans-yes those cards were available at SXF in the terminal shop long after the demise of IF, luckily I have friends in Germany who still seem to be finding them at German “flea markets” and passing them on to me.
Tell me about it 😉 They are also readily available at Aviation Center Berlin and Der Fliegerladen at Tempelhof. Der Fliegerladen also has some other IF memorabilia, like luggage tags, maps and even old issues of Bordjournal. Speaking about that, today I got a package from a friend with lots of old brochures from 1989-1990 – including a 1990 Interflug timetable, a postcard pack and a Bordjournal (the one with the model A310 on the cover). Super! 😀
