That’s a great postcard… Whenever I am at Schönefeld I try to imagine what it was like in the old days. Interflug’s postcard series help quite a lot, and I heard from a friend that they were actually sold at the airport until the late 90’s!

Hans, according to the latest info that I have the Syrian Tu-134s are confined mainly to other Middle Eastern routes and certain parts of Eastern Europe. They also operate a number of “Govt” flights as well. As Tu134s go these airframes are not that old, and when I saw one at the old Athens airport just before it closed, it looked in very good and clean condition. I don’t think that they have amassed anywhere near the hours that most Tu-134s have done.

    Cheers! 🙂

Nice photos! Still haven’t managed to get to Beirut, but since I watched the MEA 707 DVD I desperately want to go there!

Hello guys, could I just ask, where do you guys order your models from?

I mostly buy mine from Luchtvaart Hobby Shop in Amsterdam, either by visiting or by mail order. They have a huge assortment of Herpa, Gemini, Aeroclassics, Dragon Wings and lots of other makes one haven’t even heard of. Aviation Center Berlin is another company I use now and then.

And also the highly sought after Gemini Jets, Commair/British Airways Boeing 727 world tails three set… 😉 ZS-NOU, ZS-OBM and ZS-OBO

Are you saying that the 3x BA 727 set is rare and sought after? I’m asking since I’ve got it and doesn’t really need those models since I think the BA livery doesn’t look right on a 727…

Tragic indeed, but according to Airlinerlist.com there are (were) three airframes active on 11 August, now of course reduced to two… Waltair is apparently the operator of the two remaining ones.

I was there with Khalifa330 but we went home an hour early as the KDC-10 didn’t seem to show up. Did it come during the last hour?
