[QUOTE]Besides the ones we know about in museums at DH museum and at Elvington does anyone know which airframe this may be and could it be a possible candidate for this project ??. It could be a delay of info on an airframe that was in store and is no longer with us but who knows ??/QUOTE]
I was wondering the same thing. I rather like the look of TA639; it only has 700 hours on the clock!
It is just a shame about the act of’ sabotage’, which took place at Little Rissington.
Interesting read;
Lindy is a live aircraft, and always locked, as are all of YAM’s outside aircraft. The consequences for us of an uninvited guest hitting an engine fire extinguisher button with his elbow in the middle of an exploration visit don’t bear thinking about…
I can’t believe that you lock the door but don’t disconnect the aircraft battery when you are done.

I would like to have seen a de Havilland Harrier.
Being made of wood, it wouldn’t have needed that chuffing great fan engine to pick it up. 😀

My advise would be;
1. Make Tony Agar an offer he can’t refuse, and I am not necessarily suggesting he sells it.
2. Ship airframe to NZ for rebulid / remanufacture.
3. Overhal main components in the UK. (Eng, props, gear, rads etc)
4. Ship airfame back to UK for final fit out and testing.
Easy peasy. 🙂
What is the status of XV244? Is it’s future secure?
For info found a picture of rear cargo door on a RJ85.

As CKing said they look like the same as 146 / RJ, lower doors to me.
I will measure one up next week. Plenty being ‘parted out’. Will keep my eyes open if they are the same.
Avro Vulcan. 😉

The Dart in the Andover (780) is significantly noisier than the 748, which I found to be reasonably quiet in comparison.
In fact I remember complaining how useless our ear defenders were at the time. An H & S type was summoned, with a meter, to record the sound during start up. He asked me to give him a hand with his recording, he said ok when its starts I will ask you to do xyz. I said believe me you can ask me but I won’t hear anything, not standing in front of one of those.
The noise took him so much by surprise that he dropped his machine and broke it. We didn’t see him again.
We didn’t get any new ear defenders either.
