There’s hope yet..
I associate Military Aircraft with heavy metal rock music, how many ladies like rock music, I know for certain my wife doesn’t, which is a drag. I do know a female that likes the stealth aircraft though, and she has been to a few airshows , so I guess you know, what I am thinking, for 2007.:D 😀

Although a long time ago, I can just about remember when I visited an Airshow at RAF Upper Heyford, back in the late seventies. Standing next to me in the crowdline was this young lady, who seemed to be really enjoying the sight and sound, of several General Dynamics F111’s taking off. I found that quite amusing , because the noise was just incredible.:D 😀

I used to think like you, but in my life experience, it is good to share eachothers interests. My wife is happy to go to air shows with me if, perhaps we can call into a Garden Centre on the way home…it’s all about give and take!
Bit of a difficult one for me, because she likes choral singing, it just doesn’t interest me . So in my case ,I guess I will have to chat up someone at Fairford next year, then we will have some fun together.:D

America may have it’s problems, but it is one of the most technologically advanced countries, this world has ever seen. America will continue to advance technology in space exploration, which is important for mankinds survival.
It’s a shame that the harsh realities of this world are, that you need to be a powerful military power to survive. Human beings have always been at each others throats, nothing will change that, it’s part of human nature. So I wish America nothing but the best of luck, in the technological race to put man in space and on the moon, and then beyond. This is the only way, to raise ourselves from our primitive destructive ways.

Wouldn’t it be better to have different interests then you can have time alone to indulge yourself something you’ll find to be quite rare when you get married and have kids.
From my life experience, it’s actually better, if you have similar interests, then you can indulge in them together. Problem with seperate interests, is you can lose a sense of companionship and togetherness.
If you both have an interest in a hobby, then you can both be actively involved in it. Unlike my predicament, where the wife is the complete opposite to me.
If I get the chance to start all over again, my priority in finding a mate, will be to find someone with similar interests.
I can’t take my wife to Airshows, because she’s not interested. So trying to find someone to take along, is a bit of a problem.

When you go to airshows you do see Girls that seem to be interested. I used to see plenty of them at Mildenhall and Lakenheath. The British army girls seem less friendly than the American ones. You are dead lucky if you have a wife or girlfriend, who loves aircraft as much as you do. Although some Aircraft enthusiasts tend to be classed as Anoraks, ( sorry guys ):D
I think it’s quite sad that a lot more females, are not interested in technology.
Our schools have a lot to answer for, by not getting youngsters interested in science and technology.
Fortunately there are exceptions to the rule, thank goodness.
In fact at Mildenhall, you could see the USAF girls sitting on the wings of various aircraft, with the guys.
I reckon there will be more female astronauts in the future, and on moon bases. Womens liberation wins on this one.:D 😀

Wont be long before every driver in the country has to do a risk assessment, before he or she ventures onto the road.
Why were kids playgrounds altered in such a way as to remove the risk of kids getting injured. My view on this is, if a kid takes a risk and injures him or herself then all well and good, because it will teach them to be more careful. When I say injured I mean a cut or bruise, kids should be toughened up not over protected.
Why? because there will be those kids that will take risks elsewhere such as playing on railway lines which could have serious consequences. Another case in point is the Graffiti artists, they get to some high places which are very risky, from a falling point of view. So all you have done by making a playground to safe, is move the problem elsewhere.
Kids are natural risk takers, let them take risks in a safe environment.

Interesting, but whats traditional values,i was born in the sixties dad worked shifts ,mum also worked at the age of 10 i had a house key and picked my younger brother up from school ,started tea and lit the coal fire for the return of mum at early evening.
As for reversing roles, if the memsaab earned the same as me, i would readily swap roles, looking after the kids and doing the house work, a job which i think is more suited to a man.
Wasent the wind-rush days in the fifties and sixties? when people from Asia and the caribbean were invited to come and live and work ,here wasn’t that a baby boom era too?
I assume you are a resident of this country, or probably not. But there used to be a traditional way of life here, mum and dad were in fashion in those days. Very few single parent families, and divorce was not easy. Because we now live in this so called age of liberation, it’s created more problems than it solved.
I am not saying things in the 60s were perfect, but society was more stable.
I guess if you were tempted to have a relationship with someone outside of marriage then, you kept it a secret, and kept the family unit together.
Not so now sadly, divorce is easy, and this has a damaging effect on the kids.
Marriage isn’t a perfect solution for relationships, but it does create stability and security.
Yes the fifties and sixties was the time, when people came from other countries, they were needed to boost the population after the war.
Yes that’s right, life was much harder then, and the family cemented it all together.
