Logans run…
Logans run was another Film I saw at the Widescreen Cinema, memorable because of the Euthanasia program, where old people jumped too their death.
That must have been the first Sci Fi Film that I saw at the Cinema. 🙂

Bit of a stupid question maybe, but was that chanting by the Zulu warriors taken up by Liverpool FC fans as “Liv-er-pool, Liv-er-pool”? Just sounds so similar in rhythm, and doesn’t the Kop at Anfield take its name from Spion Kop in S.Africa? What was the connection there?
Don’t know the answer too that one mr Creosote ( where did you get that name LOL 😀 ) Don’t answer that question or you’ll get me in trouble. Anyway in my younger days, too see those Zulu Warriors massing as they did. really brought home too me the power of overwelming odds. Those scenes were quite spectacular. 😮

Tornados and flash flooding.
Absolutely right we are in a mess, recent weather in the west of Britain confirms the trend of weather too come. I think Hurrifan you are rather optimistic in trying too slow it down, We will have too deal with it best we can. Fortunately here in the South the weather remains reasonably settled with minimal heavy rainfall. I see the Polar caps are still melting, so things are happening. 😮

Zulu.
Zulu on the Widescreen was fabulous, I can still remember wave after wave of Zulu warriors grouping too attack the British soldiers. About a hundred British soldiers were out numbered by several thousand Zulus. I didn’t watch it when it was shown on T.V. though, so my memory of it is a bit vague. 🙂

The Magnificent Seven on Widesceen.
Back on topic…….
1960……
Exodus….Paul Newman….A sprawling,rather leaden epic.
The Unforgiven….Burt Lancaster and Audrey Hepburn ( she suffered a miscarriage after a fall from a horse during filming )
Saturday Night And Sunday Morning….Albert Finney….transposing classic British telly ( E.G. Play For Today ) to the big screen.
TOP THREE
The Magnificent Seven
Spartacus
Phycho
The Magnificent Seven film is one I forgot too mention. The original one, not the follow up was just Magnificent. The Gunfight scenes were very exciting too see, I almost felt part of the film. Widescreen cinema really did make these Films a joy too watch, ( bring back the Widescreen cinemas) :diablo:

Beat the Beat.
I’m bit noob with these english drumming terms but I think I got the idea, basicly very fast phase drumming, found in aggressive punk and deathmetal stuff??
I first started my “Musical selffullfilling” with latin percussions, with Gongas and bongoes. Thus the complex rythm patterns have great appeal to me. Thats why I mostly admire John Bonhams (from led zeppelin) style and found myself very often imitating him (with variable success 😉 ) His use of single bass pedal in a way that makes most of the douplebass users look like woodchops is phenomenal. I’ve managed to get my left foot (i’m left handed) not as good as bonham, but at least to the same planet if so to speak. At the moment i’m trying to adjust my style of playing The Who stuff which is really, really hard. Keinth Moon used douplebass pedals but his overallway of drumming was completely uniq. None have played like him before and propaply none never will. He plays the drums as they where the leading instrument in away that sometimes sounds that he plays the songs melody and not just the rythm…Moony often uses his feets to create the rythmbase and freeing his hands to somesort of berserk whirlwind filling. I’ve tryed to use my quick left foot to di the task of Moon’s twolegs, with not so good results, the style is just too hard..
Well apart from some heavy metal, my favourite music is Drum and Bass. I love the fast beats and manic rhythm. Add too that futuristic harmonies all mixed up with the odd vocals, it’s just what my brain needs too chill out. Oh and the Base 40hz comes at you in the backround , giving your subs a good pasting. Hip Hop, Garage and Bass Breaks don’t come anywhere near it.
Considering it’s all produced from computer technology it’s pretty good. :diablo:

Things too look forward too.
i see that there are proposals to build several more large reservoirs in the UK to make up for the shortfalls already felt in then summer….but nothing about looking after all those leaking pipes !!!
I think we face a very sticky future in this world with such massive changes in the WX never mind global conflict…for once i am glad not to be young…relatively speaking that is!!! 😀
You havn’t mentioned the population, which by 2100 will probably have increased by six million. Another problem of GW is that countries such as Spain will be too hot for holidays, however GB will become the place too have your holiday as it will be a little cooler. Hurricanes or Tornados may become more frequent, causing costly damage too buildings. The worst case scenario is that large cities such as London may become flooded, causing a humanitarian catastrophe. Pests such as Rats will have increased in numbers, posing a threat too health. Air conditioning systems will have too be fitted in all homes, putting an extra burden on the national grid system.I think that’s it for now, that’s enough too be getting on with the rest is in my other posts.
look on the bright side, if the predictions are wrong it may get colder. 🙂
