well actually in this world you will find that their are many more sides than we can keep a track of!!!

I can only tell you that for example in my industry we had almost compulsory redundancy at age 50 for many years untill about five years ago..then the powers that be found that the oldies had much to offer…and now they are hunting them out AND reemploying people whom they have paid redundancy to!!!! This is also evident in many different industries in particular service industries… they NEED your expertise and knowledge ..dont let them fool you..!!!

and agreed the manufacturers need to pay the price for their greed in producing unsuitable cars..EG; toyota produce the best selling car in the world…BUT if you buy one in europe it is much more economical and eco friendly than the American example….Why?????

Ok , well in my industry , which is a sevice industry, the Management would love too say goodbye too us oldies, because our terms and conditions are advantageous too us. Although I am very experienced in what I do, the company prefers less experienced people because they are cheaper. Money is the deciding factor here. All the company needs is one or two people with the knowledge too teach the youngsters. Cheap labour abounds, My days are numbered, gone are the good old days, my younger days… 🙂

Some of the technology has been there for ages but its not in the interest of various industries to allow them to develop. Many years ago car engines were modified to accept bio fuels such as methane….but the oil companies wouldnt make much from that would they??? 😡

Now thats interesting Hurrifan, so its big business versus progress. That certainly makes sense , so its status quo and nowhere too go. Would I be correct in saying that Russia has huge reserves of Oil underground, I have heard this mentioned in the past. I also understand that a modified Diesel Engine will work on used cooking Oil.

Pictures showing B52’s carpet Bombing the jungle in vietnam.

You know the Nigerian scam spams which promise 10% or so of millions of $ which they cannot access?? All you have to do is to be kind (more like stupid) enough to give them your bank details so they can deposit the sum in your account and leve you with your 10% payment.

Well here’s a rather scummy variation:

My late husband was a loving, caring and hard working man
Concorde pilot who died Monday, 31 July 2000, CONCORDE PLANE CRASH [Flight
AF4590 ] with the whole passengers aboard. The name of my deceased
husband is Christian Marty the Concorde pilot. Before the sudden death
of my beloved husband, and father of my tow daughters, my late husband
intended to establish a business in the united states of America with
the sum of $30 million united states dollars, but unfortunately he died
    before this proposed venture.
    🙁

This above is just a smal part of wht I got in my Yahoo mailbox this morning. Did a Google check and yes, Christian Marty was the pilot of the unfortunate Concorde.

Has any one else recieved this variant of scam letter?

Whats with these guys?? They must think I’ve just come down from Mars for the weekend!!!!

I’d take these guys, smother thier privates in honey and lock them in a cage with a couple of very hungry Grizzly bears. :diablo:

Nothing surprises me about human nature anymore, we do live in a very sad world. 🙁

I would like too put a slightly different slant on all this . There does seem too be rhyme and reason in our development as an intelligent Species. Idea’s in our mind’s are transformed into physical manisfestations. Surely if oil happen’s too be available and our mind devises method’s of Transport which use this basic material, there can’t be much wrong with that. Yes , we are using and abusing this Planet, but I don’t see much wrong in that. Obviously we can go too far,and that’s when the warning signs appear. Our development and survival is only guaranteed by our actions, we are being put too the test. So until we have the improved Technology( wake up out there) we are going too have a hard time . Until our leaders realise, that putting money into technological progress, is more important than raking in Taxes off of Fuel , we won’t progress. 🙂

No. Poland has an influx of people from the Ukraine who are now taking up the jobs in Poland which are no longer taken up by the Polish themselves. Ukrainians can earn more money in Poland than in their home country. So- in Poland they have the same kind of labour related immigration and associated problems, or solutions, depending on your views about this.

    Tillerman.

Ok , bring back the cold War then, that will solve the problem. Russia’s iron grip will put things right. Or is this all a Communist plot too destabilize the west? Makes you think dosn’t it, if it is then its certainly working…. 🙂

    Roscorio,

    Quote;

“but that will prove very costly for us all. No sense in commiting economic suicide is there”

Bit shortsighted dont you think??? we are after all only custodians of this earth and our children and their children should not have to pay the price for this sort of attitude…should they??? do you want them growing up in a poisoined half dead world????

“You see, some off us have too drive for a living.”….

again not an insurmountable problem….take a look at Brasil’s motor industry and its fuel supplies…The only people with anything to worry about are the Oil companies…so unless you work for one of them???

“us oldies won’t be able too get new jobs. We will be made unemployed due too us being priced off the roads.???
…. no problem if you look at nearly all the Northern European Economies, including to an extent the UK, you will find that many companies are finding it better to retain or reemploy “oldies ” with a bit of cop on & street sense than college kids with theory and no practical knowledge!!!

“This posting is coming from the real world, not fantasy land where other people are languishing..”

Dont think so….looks like role reversal to me!!!…..Pot, Kettle and black spring to mind :p

Sorry Sir but If we commit economic suicide there wont be anything for our children will there. We are in catch 22 land here.

I drive for a living because I have too, its part of my job. Why should I pay the price because our technology re Vans/ cars is rubbish. Surely the manufacturers should pay the price for producing poor technology. We need better Technology now, agreed, its long over due.
contrary too what you say re us oldies, the reverse is true, after 50 nobody wants too employ you because your’e too set in your ways. A younger person can be manipulated more easily too accept unfavourable terms of working practice. They can easily be hired and fired, thats what the real World is all about. You see there are 2 sides too everything… 🙂
