It’s common knowledge that foreign criminal gangs are operating in this country, and probably in other European countries as well. I don’t have a problem with people who come here from other countries, for a better standard of living for themselves, and contribute to the countries wealth. What I do have a problem with, are people who come here, just to rip us off for their own personal gain, I can’t see how you can consider that being rascist. To say that I am a BNP lover is ludicrous, where did you get that idea from.

On last nights television news I saw that the government was considering scrapping the RED ARROWS !!!!!!

What on earth is this country coming to – if they were to pull out of Iraq and the EU we would have enough money to keep the Arrows, improve the NHS, have a proper police force and a real army and navy fully equipped. Instead we are now almost a third world country.
Wake up England before it is too late.

Obviously it’s all about cutting costs, the government are cutting back on things Military, THEY consider are unnecessary. The worrying thing is ,this country is up to it’s eyeballs in debt, no government can continue to borrow forever. I am surprised they haven’t closed RAF Marham, and given the defensive job to the Americans at Lakenheath. Things must be bad, if the government are considering scrapping the Red Arrows. The Red Arrows exemplify all that is British about Britain. Slowly but surely, it seems the RAF and other services are being gradually taken apart, this may be, because of a European defence force strategy.

Its the same over here , mindless yobs roaming the streets abusing all and sundry, street crime gone through the roof ,unacceptable behaviors now the norm and life taken without thought if you happen to be in the wrong place at the wrong time

A number of factors have caused this not least of which is the way some of the respected institutions, which previously would have been the pillars of society and holding the moral high ground,have been shown to be acting in a disgraceful manner;

police….involved in blackmail , forging confessions etc.

The Catholic church..child sexual abuse and cover ups of same..

Politicians ….fraud, backhanders, abuse of power etc etc etc.

With all these things becoming evident over the last few years and with some people having more money now than ever before is it any wonder that morals and/or doing the right thing have gone out the window? and those without are even more bitter and angry.

TV and the rest of the media have a lot to answer for by their purveyance of some utter tripe and the way same is used to almost brain wash the gullible , but then we all have a certain responsibility for what is watched and what is seen to be in demand.

Well Hurrifan, the rot is well and truly ingrained into society then, even in Ireland. In the UK there seems to be an insidious criminal underclass, that’s responsible for benefit fraud, credit card fraud and identity fraud. This kind of criminality, poses a serious threat to the UK, and it’s law abiding citizens. This is what happens, when you open your borders up to all and sundry, without adequate checks. The scary thing is, this low morality is everywhere.

It’s interesting to note, that not many others have challenged the decline in moral standards, which affects Britain these days. Basically ordinary people are fed up with this Yob culture. Take a look at the graffiti, that defaces buildings in Towns and cities. Take a look at the disgusting state of some buses, which Yobs vandalize, and leave left overs from takeaways on the floor. If you are unlucky enough to share a bus with fowled mouthed youths, spouting the F word, traveling by bus can be a disgusting experience. No wonder people prefer to use their cars.Take a look at the hood culture, these are kids who haven’t got a clue about anything. Take a look at the pub culture, kids who can’t help but get smashed out of their heads. They have no idea how to socialise, and drink in moderation.
Take a look at the underclass of criminality, that exists in Britain these days, which the government seems powerless to stop.
Of course, not all young people are of a low moral standing, but the ones that are, do tend to get noticed.
Fortunately for Britain, the vast majority of it’s citizens are hard working tax payers. These are the ones that you see going to work every day,these are the ones that the government wants to tax ,till the pips squeak. YES that’s us, the silent majority, keeping this country from falling apart.

I disagree. Statistics show that more people read the Sun than all the quality daily newspapers put together, which is a very sad relection on our society. And that does not take into account the Mirror, Star, etc!

As a result television programmes are aimed at the lower quartile of human intelligence and we are all expected to stoop to that level!

Therefore why can’t the quality of the programmes be raised, which includes cutting out all the swearing, in order to give the sad people in our society something to aspire to!

Avgas is correct, TV has degenerated into a low morality media, from what it used to be. Satellite TV started this decline in moral standards, so terrestrial TV had to follow, or lose out. It’s a sad fact that a lot of people like low morality TV, so I guess we are stuck with it.

Come of it, the word f*ck means nothing its just a collection of letters creating a sound which refers to sex- its use does not mean the end of mankind as we know it. Every society has its under-class and Jade Goody represents the UK’s.

Well fortunately, we are not allowed to use it on the Aviation forum. The F words use on TV and elsewhere, is totally unnecessary. I find it highly offensive, and it’s use, demonstrates a moral decline, which is happening in our country. I guess a young person, that has been exposed to this word in everyday life, and on TV, wont find it offensive at all. But those of us,that have been brought up in a different age, where there was more personal responsibility, know better. The reason for swearing, is to offend someone, and the F word does that quite admirably. Anyhow, it’s just another indicator of the falling standards, that are evident in the UK these days.
It’s quite worrying really, because there are other countries such as India, that will become our competitors in the future. A country such as the UK, that loses the moral high ground, wont have much going for it. We will be heading for our eventual decline, from a civilised society, into anarchy, where anything goes.

It’s a bit more, than women bitching about each other. Something is seriously going wrong with our society, we are heading back to the dark ages.
TV is a very influential media, and what youngsters see on TV, can have a harmful effect on them. I happened to see a bit of TV some time ago, and was disgusted by the swearing on a particular program. It seems the F word is commonly used now, and I found that quite shocking. Fortunately, I don’t watch TV anymore, as most of it is dross viewing.
Where have all the heroes gone, they have been replaced by a Yobbish culture.
I guess evolutionary changes in society, will always happen, but why do they have to be bad ones.
What TV needs, is for censorship to be brought back, to stop this free for all, anything goes. Of course if that were to happen, there wouldn’t be much left to watch. :rolleyes:
