Well that’s made my day!
It’s a good little event, I’m sure you won’t be disappointed! I visited Combined Ops for the first time in 2012 (indeed, that’s one of my photographs on their website…) and had a cracking day. Very good value, considering the low entry fee.
My full review of the day can be found here – http://www.globalaviationresource.com/reports/2012/airshows-uk-headcorn-combined-ops-review/index.php
I’ve also attached a few photos as a little taster…

Ah, but the drive up the M11 starts at 9. 😉
Tremendous – Thursday can’t come soon enough. I’ll be in full-on geek mode by about 9am. 😀
Phwoaaaar!
Peter knows! Perfectly summarised.
Oh, and having seen the P-38 at La Ferte-Alais flying full aerobatics (reverse/half cubans, loops, barrel rolls etc), I can only agree with TJ – it’s a sensational display this year…
Saw the Shuttleworth Storch and the Miles Magister fly over the village – returning from North Weald perhaps??
Yep, they were at North Weald for the Air Britain fly-in.
They were at North Weald for lunch, too.

Brilliant, looking forward to seeing this beauty at La Ferte Alais in a few weeks!
Bloody good show!
1998 was the (equally lovely) MATS Connie that had come over from the States for the Berlin Airlift 50th celebrations. It operated from Cranfield, where the PFA Rally was being held, over the weekend IIRC.
I photographed the B-17 last weekend, although I only have one of the edited images on Flickr. It’s really quite fascinating to see!

While I’m at it I might as well post a couple of other shots of the utterly gorgeous ‘Snafu’ from The Fighter Collection’s open house (hope DCW doesn’t mind me hijacking his thread!). As Mr Pitts has already pointed out, you can read all about it, with plenty more images, on Global Aviation Resource… http://www.globalaviationresource.com/reports/2012/aviation-events-friends-of-the-fighter-collection-tfc-evening/index.php

…and a token Bearcat shot or two for good measure.

If last year is anything to go by, I wouldn’t expect an official list until nearer the time. If I remember correctly, participants were revealed on the AJBS website over several months in 2010. I *think* 2011 was different in that rather than drip feeding information, a full list was published a month or so before the event.
I’ll be heading out there for the first time this year, staying in a nearby holiday apartment for six days. Looking forward to it.:D
