Oh my!
That looks jaw droppingly beautiful!
Wonderful work by all involved, you’ve created something of a masterpiece and, as David says, a fitting tribute to those who flew them 70-odd years ago.
Bravo, sirs.
The text I just received from DX about the Sabre has made me quite excited.
Also understand John Romain has just snotted the place in the second/”new” Buchon. Nice work if you can get it.;)
I visited Damyns Hall a few times while the Goodyear Blimp was there, wonderful airfield with very good access and a really friendly atmosphere.
Well worth a visit on a standard weekend, and a cracking day’s entertainment on the airshow days to boot. Show’s looking good this year – I haven’t been to the airshow before, will be the warbirds be operating from Damyns? No idea what the runway length is like to be honest!
It visited Duxford for Flying Legends in 2004. Very impressive, gorgeous aircraft.
Most definitely.
He was clearly laying the groundwork to go for a ride down Pippa’s Pall Mall until Philip got in her ear on the balcony, the cheeky devil. To be a fly on the wall at the survivor’s party tonight!

I watched and enjoyed it, nice to see a young couple in love (you never know, they may be some inspiration to the younger generations…who knows…) and equally good to see the British people (well, a proportion of them) coming together to celebrate. We even had some street parties round my way! A day to be proud to be British, and those days don’t come often! Britain can certainly do pomp and pageantry when the occasion calls for it.
BBMF/RAF did the nation proud too. Anyone else notice Princess Kate saying “Look at that, perfect formation”, or something to that effect, when the Tonkas and Tiffies flew over? On the basis of that observation alone, I’d happily call her Queen when the time comes!;)
Oh, and Pippa Middleton is immensely marriageable.

Er… which “Twilight Tear” was this, aren’t there a couple of “genuine” examples…
Indeed. Hence the wording “operated as ‘Twilight Tear'”. 😉
Is that the Mustang that TFC operated as “Twilight Tear” from 2003 to about 2006ish, or am I confusing it with a similarly schemed machine?
I like the raised Gnat shots and the low angle Bassett in particular. Good stuff! You even got the back of my head in the last shot, which is always a bonus.;)
Excellent, some lovely vintage aircraft in there! The Whitney Straight is something special – is it a flier?
Looking rather tremendous!
booked into the holiday in as the red lion is going to be under renovation 😮
still good though as if you guys are right it’s walking distance 😎
Word of warning, when I made the reservation I was quoted what I’d consider to be a fair fee for the new hotel, for a three night stay. I’ve since popped in to take a look at the place, checked the reservation and prices and found that what I’ll actually be paying is almost double what I was quoted! Eye watering figures. Not much they can do as it’s my word vs. theirs… It was also £1.50 for a can of coke from the lobby vending machine if I remember correctly, which seems a bit mad.
On the plus side, the hotel looks fantastic. Nice downstairs bar with a strong aviation theme. Quite terrific all round.
