That is one cool looking bone dome Mr B, has to be said! 😎
Love the Tiger Moth ‘goalie’ shot. Hope they repeat that at Little Gransden, looks a lot of fun. Really wish I’d followed through with my plan to go to Sywell on Sunday rather than a second day at Shoreham. Everyone’s saying it’s the show of the year; might be forced into attending for the first time in 2012!

Thanks for looking. Might post a little Cosford, Waddington and Old Warden later, if I have a chance.

A nice set of phots. I think it’s the first display this year where the weather hasn’t affected the flying programme.
Pagen, we have a couple of shows a month from May to October http://www.shuttleworth.org/tickets/allevents.asp
The next show is the Military Pageant Air Display on 1st August.
Didn’t May Eve. get away with it? ;):D
Edwardians look looooovely – certainly looks like a cracking show.

I noticed zero USAF participation ,pathetic (USAF , not the show organisers) and where were all those foreign E3’s promised?

I guess these guys don’t count then. Cracking bunch they were, too.

Today, this happened, then some other stuff happened.

Naturally, all will be covered extensively in next week’s Global Aviation Resource report. 🙂
P.S. The VC-10 should land on at Biggin following its display on Saturday, then depart into its slot on Sunday.
Indeed – I’m “going in blind”, so to speak, so will rock up on Thursday and enjoy four days of warbird heaven, without knowing what to expect from both participation and programme (other than the usual suspects, of course). 😎
Generally, participants are revealed the week before the show. Last year, I seem to remember the list being published on the Wednesday prior.
It’s Flying Legends, large crowds are pretty much assured so there’s no need to release a list that is subject to change weeks before the show, I suppose!
i love Mr Chabberts ramblings. I know at times he does come up with some complete nonsense (Ie the French won the battle of Britain) but he does add a comical touch.
“If the French Air Force were to have had another ten squadrons of Curtiss Hawks, they would have beaten back the Luftwaffe…”
😀
i see Peter Vachers Hurri is now down to attend this year.
Jonathan Whaley’s website lists him as flying the Spitfire I, too. 🙂
Martin – I spotted two gents on the hill with L lenses, wondered if they were forum regulars!
Red Hunter – indeed, I recall hearing something about an aerobatic aircraft (Cap 232 I think, but I may be wrong) being scheduled to display once the Typhoon returned, but nothing materialised. Likewise, there was some confusion earlier in the day regarding the flying order. Keeping the lines of communication clear is always important at any airshow, regardless of size, in my opinion.
BBMF to Northolt maybe? :D;)
Thanks for your kind comments!
Just a few more from Old Warden and elsewhere that didn’t make the report(s).

You can park in the carpark between the two museums, but that fills up very quickly. The main carpark is just down the road to the left of the museums, on the large grass area where the DC8 and 747 corpses are.
I got there at about 10-10.30am last year, drove in to the parking area mentioned above with no problems.
